What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
I'm seeing it Saturday night/Sunday morning in an all night Grindhouse lineup at the Alamo Drafthouse in Downtown Austin. It's an exploitation movie marathon described as:
"GRINDHOUSE ALL-NIGHT THRILLSHOW

I will definetly be hitting this up on the weekend. I already saw the Eli Rothtrailer online. All I got to say is you will never look at Thanksgiving the same way.

the trailer is freakin' awesome. i cant wait to see the one Rob Zombie did. here it is if you were curious.
I've been waiting for this to come out forever....well at least it felt like forever..haha It'll be hard getting a ticket to see it this weekend so i'm shooting for early next week, that's if i can handle waiting that long.

Work gave me Good Friday off(thank you Jesus), so I went to see the first showing today. I want to see Machete!!! Danny Trejo is the man. As for the double feature, I would have to say that I liked "Planet Terror" just a skosh more than "Death Proof" which surprised me since I am such a huge fan of Tarantino's flicks.

Probably not the finest way to spend Easter Sunday, but definitely the most fun. ;D
Damn Austin's a cool city.
Some of my friends think I live down here for the music scene, but truth be told, it's the film geek insanity. Nothing compares to the nuttiness of Austin Film Geeks...

Just got back from seeing it myself and I have to agree with you, I liked Planet Terror a little bit more than Death Proof, but they were both really damn good. And the trailers were great too.

Just got back from an all night grindhouse marathon at the downtown Alamo Drafthouse in Austin. Craziness in the form of 11 hours of grindhouse cineman including 4 ACTUAL grindhouse movies leading up to a screening of Grindhouse. Among other things, I saw David Hasselhoff's junk as he inhabited a character called Boner in a 70s T&A flick called Revenge of the Cheerleaders. The other grindhouse films shown where Fast Pretty Eddie, The Boss and The Losers (a bikers in Nam flick).
Grindhouse itself was really entertaining. Sort of the id of both filmmakers. To use sexual analogies, Robert Rodriguez is all about the money shot. Planet Terror is pretty much 90 minutes of money shots from start to finish. Tarantino, on the other hand, is all about the foreplay. Death Proof is pretty much a 75 minute set up to the last 15 minute finale. Pretty much typifies their entire careers if you ask me.
I liked Deathproof more as well. Does anyone know what the deal is with the trailers between the movies? Did they just have Rob Zombie and Eli Roth direct trailers or are they actually making movies out of those (for Grindhouse 2 or something)?
I'd have to agree that Deathproof has definitely stuck with me longer. It works the same way a good Italian gialo does, I think. A lot of it works subconsciously.

They are talking about possibly re-releasing them seperate in the US too. They would put some additional footage on each movie(the "missing scenes"). They think that the reason it didnt do good was because the length of it.
