I also knew this older lady who used to slam neat vodka at the bar after work every day. Straight up slams out of a rocks glass. One after the next. She was probably an alcoholic.
Hello! Perhaps the best way to get through this shit is drinking? I had a great sour beer from a new brewery, bless them, that opened during this quarantine. It was delicious. But also ai rarely drink anymore so now I’m drunk!

If you buy a house in Spain or Portugal you qualify for automatic residency. And as long as you spend at least 2 weeks a year there, after 5 years you can apply for citizenship. It's called the 'Golden Visa'. Just sayin...

Aside from the wife part, I'm right there with you.
Hello. Party’s on this weekend with minor TS Cristobal. 999 days out of 1000 you won’t catch me energizer bunnying life at 9:22am But wtf, it doesn’t matter today. This one’s dedicated to Paulsboro, New Jersey and Linda, an old hurricane party buddy back from the 80’s. \m/
COVID is stupid. I just wanna go to a bar. Pay for my over priced drinks. Have a dance with some friends. Chat with some randoms. And now I can’t do that. It’s stupid.

It is. And I hate that they ruined all our plans. I want it to be over. I might or might not be high.
Drinking 3 or more drinks 4 days out of the week, every week. at least thats my opinion.
Eh, 3 drinks is breakfast for some people. I don't think it's the amount you consume or how often you consume it per se'. I'd weigh in on it being any of the following) 1) drinker hurts themselves in more than one accident (falling, passing out in the cold, whatever); 2) drinker hurts someone else (physical, mental, emotional); 3) drinker has a drinking personality apart from their regular conscious personality; 4) drinker goes to meetings and convinces themselves that they are an alcoholic because the first part of treating a problem is admitting you have one which leads them to 12 steps; 5) alcohol takes on more significance than more important and pressing things in life.
I'm sure there are other symptoms up for consideration.
Lol well, I guess I've most certainly done 1 and 2 and 3, but it's been a hot minute! (Wow just realizing it's been 10 years since I was last arrested, time flys)
But really just knowing where my limit is, admitting I go past it when I do, respecting when it's acceptable to not drink, slowed down the 20 and clear issue, and brought it to a nice 30 and high functioning grey area.

Youth is another thing. What you do in your 20's probably doesn't define your character vis a vis alcohol because it's a haze anyway. I've been thinking I've probably been drinking too much in the COVID-19 era. I'll have a nice cocktail or couple glasses of wine with dinner or whatever. But I like Beam and soda (sparkling ozarka, perrier, etc.). It's just what I like to drink other than squeezed juice and coffee milk/iced coffee. It's not that I'm feeling bad or anything, but it's gotten to be hard to get drunk if/when that's the endgame. I could maybe have 8 drinks in an evening and not feel that much of it. So probably after hurricane season and the election, I'll go on a temporary hiatus and work the tolerance level back down. It will leave my pockets less empty when live music is back and when I don't have to drive.

if 2016 was any indication, election day this year is going to be a peak for me

I tend to drink more in the second half of the year: summer cookouts, my birthday, Quack Club, and football season. The election probably won't have much of an effect on that front.
I may have one or two beers like 4-5 days in a row, then go 4-5 days without. Having more than 4-5 in a day has become very rare now.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
