Not the biggest Dead fan, but any form of their shows is usually a good time. I have a sneaking suspicion that Phil will get a late night this year, and thus will conflict with something like Sigur Ros, causing a huge but easy conflict for me. I have never seen Sigur Ros, so the choice is easy. Just sucks knowing I'm probably going to end up missing Phil this year.

You are confused. They were supposed to go on at 1:00 that night, but were having problems, and came on late. They played a shorter set, sacrificing Cassandra Gemini in the process!
For the record, I don't see Phil & Friends playing a Saturday late night set. I could totally be wrong, but that would likely pit him against Levon Helm, Sigur Ros & the Super Jam. Usually one of the Saturday night tents is devoted to electronica. So if we're all assuming Sigur Ros is playing late night (which isn't necessarily the case), I think you're looking at either Sigur Ros or Levon Helm on the Which Stage on Saturday night.

Phil will be latenight, only other time that would work for him would be headlining, of course the acoustic show he's doing could be early in the day, maybe in John Butler Trio's spot from last year or Bob Weir's spot, unless that acoustic show is added into their regular set, which I'm thinking its not
these are the 2 shows i'm looking forward to the most, and i hope to god they don't conflict, i was pretty upset that last year string cheese and superjam conflicted cause those were 2 of my top ones i wanted to see, but i'm glad i got to see the cheese one last time
Yes. I don't think Metallica is going to play more than 2 hours, so I think they'll let Phil & Friends play a long set beforehand on the Which Stage. It would pretty much serve as perfect counter programming. Plus, from what little info we have on who is playing what day, the Friday Which Stage lineup looks like it could very well look something like:
Abigail Washburn & The Sparrow Quartet > Bluegrass All Stars > Willie Nelson > Phil Lesh & Friends

Because.... They don't have a history of consistently playing more than 2 hours. They play a genre of music that's far more intense than most jam bands. Radiohead is the only non jam band I know of that's broken the 2 hour mark at Bonnaroo.
I think Saturday night latenight will have Phil on the Which Stage and Sigur Ros in the MMJ spot from 06 (This Tent). Big conflict for some, perfect for me because I'd rather be up close for Phil than see Sigur Ros.
Levon Helm and Sigur Ros are both scheduled for Saturday. I expect those to be the big ones that night. I wouldn't expect Phil Lesh to also play that night, so he seems more likely to play Friday. I still don't think Kanye is playing Thursday (despite his website listing his gig for that day), so I would assume he'll be playing against Lesh on Friday. If you ask me, those would be two very easy choices and I don't think many people would argue that they're unfair conflicts.

-Metallica shows on their last headlining tour were almost 3 hours -well yeah, but with a band with so much catalog to work with, it would be easy -I don't know about previous years but Tool played about 2 hours and 20-30 minutes last year. Their regular headlining set on that tour was 2 hours, and they added 2 songs.
