What time are you going to line up for Pearl Jam??

Remember that they have the barracades for the front area now. So it's really not that hard getting a good spot. Show up a hour early and wait in line and you'll be in the first 20 rows. I did it for The Roots and was third row center while jumping in line 20 minutes before they went on, on the left side of the stage. PJ I'd give a little more time for, but with the barracades no one can just squat up front all day. They clear out the sections after each artist is done and let the next line of people in. Anyone who wants to be up front will be able to do so.

Like most people, I feel time is much better spent at Roo seeing various talented acts instead wasting an entire day just to get up front. I'll see PJ but I'll see tons of other great acts in the meantime.

too much other stuff to see already, even without the additions. unless there are must-sees playing before PJ i wont go until right before they start.

i dont need to be close, i prefer to be able to see a lot of crowd in front of me anyway. especially so for PJ.

That's true... it really had a negative effect on my experience during the Tool show. Especially in my state of mind.

What side were you on? I was in the back of the left side pit (in a certain state of mind) and didn't have any problems. A friend of mine wigged out though and ran for the camps site. PJ will be a lot different than Tool in that it will be a much more embracive show with the audience. Plus not so much crazy sh*t trying to scar you for life.

i know that the 35 shows may sound excessive to some, but believe me there will be AT LEAST 50 people there that I know from other shows that will out do me. There are some really dedicated PJ fans. Some that I know that have seen them in excess of 100 times. They vary their setlists so dramatically night to night that to see them 10 times on a tour you are truely seeing a different show every night. My ten club number is 154XXX. I get decent seats. But never incredible so I line up early to see my favorite band up close. I saw them in Seattle 01 11th row, Reading 04 4th row, was on the rail for Irving Plaza in 06 and Lollapalooza in 07.

I want to get up front for Pearl Jam, but what's this I hear about not being allowed to take anything with you? Just no bags, or nothing at all (even water)?


I'm not going to wait in line all day for a spot because I would have to miss too much other music, but I will be at the What stage early for Pearl Jam.

i'll probably be getting to pearl jam about 15 minutes before their set starts and i'll be leaving their set depending how close i wanna get for late night action.

All this nonsense about leaving your bags and water and everything at the entrance to the PIT area was only for the Tool set last year. I was on the rail for many other shows last year (Ben Harper, Police, Roots, Widespread) and I was allowed to bring in whatever I wanted, backpack, camelbak, water bottles, camera, etc.

I assume that it will be the same this year, where you will be able to bring in basically whatever you need, except for possibly the Metallica show, they might treat that like Tool last year because of possible moshpits or just because it is "angry music"

Anyways, I'll see all you guys at whatever time is necessary to be on the rail for these Gods as my membership number is ungodly high in the 406XXX area

I love this thread. I love Pearl Jam. I've been listening to them since 1991 and have never seen them live. That being said i'm going to wait for the schedule to come out before i make any plans.

I'll probably line up as early as it takes to get on the rail. I've been 6th row Mike's side and 10th row dead center, but this could be a once in a lifetime chance to get 1st row.

I have 3 other days of music plus latenights to see other bands. Saturday will be dedicated to PJ (and whatever other bands are playing What that day).
