I just got a copy of the new Metallica album. I will start by saying that I was long time Metallica fan who was very upset with the direction the band has gone in since the Black Album. Rick Ruben is the Quacking Man!!! The new album sounds like Master of Puppets alot. Very heavy. If you told me that the music was going to be this good I wouldn't have believed you. I know that alot of you are bitching about them being there, but after hearing the new stuff I am excited for the first time in years to see them. Just thought I'd put that out there for the fans of them.

I can live with that. I'll buy it anyway. If he would like to take it up with me at the show I'll be the one in the front row, along with the 10 other people who want to see them. I guarentee that he will lose.

I'm pretty sure it'll be more than 10. Sh*t there are 2 of us in this thread!!!

James sound just like the old days. Rick Ruben is a master at bringing bands back home to their sound. God Hates Us All by Slayer is a great example of what he can do. This could be as good as anything they have done. Very Riff heavy. Not very complicated. He must have done some effects to James voice to make it sound this good.

So, can you clue us in on where to find the album? I promise we'll buy it when it comes out.

Yeah...I bought all their other crap over the last ten years....I still feel like they owe me $20 after the last one...
They owe me $20 for the cost of the damn CD PLUS an amount to be determined for the pain and suffering that was inflicted on me attempting to listen to it.
IF the new album is that good I might fogive them for St. Anger.... maybe.
It is the most poorly produced album I have ever heard....the drums sound like tin cans...and are louder than the damn guitars half the time...the songs might be okay..."I'm madly in anger with you" is always gonna be a stupid line....but more than anything, it's the production that sucks....

I honestly don't think St. Anger is that bad.

I can't disagree, that the production value is in fact pretty crappy, but there were moments of the album that I got into.
