Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Here's a video of them playing The Ocean off of their new album at an acoustic performance in Chicago. Apparently it was pro-shot, hopefully for a future DVD release. I've also included the full setlist. Hopefully their Roo set is something like this:
Joy (Tom solo) What We Worked For Walking is Still Honest Reinventing Axl Rose Impact New Wave Those Anarcho Punks Are Mysterious Tonight We're Gonna Give it 35% Unsubstantiated Rumors Are Good Enough For Me Thrash Unreal (Tom and James) Pints of Guiness Makes You Strong (with Franz Nicolay of World Inferno Friendship Society/The Hold Steady/Guignol) Don't Lose Touch Sink, Florida, Sink Ocean Baby, I'm An Anarchist (Tom solo)
Encore Wagon Wheel 8 Full Hours of Sleep (Tom solo)
OMG no Cliche Guevara??!?! I would ahve been quite dissapointed if that was the case. Although that guest appearance by Franz pretty is frickin' cool, and unexpected.

Figured I'd give this thread a bump, and report on the show I just got back from.
AM! rocked it as usual. The setlist was pretty standard, not too many surprises, but they're energy was great.
Chatted with Tom for a few minutes after the show. I mentioned Bonnaroo, and he said he's really looking forward to it, and expressed excitement over Metallica, which made me laugh.
Setlist (partial order)
Up The Cuts White People for Peace Cliche Guevara Problems From Her Lips To God's Ears (The Energizer) Pints of Guinness Make You Strong New Wave Don't Lose Touch Stop! Reinventing Axl Rose Thrash Unreal Americans Abroad Sink, Florida, Sink The Ocean
(encore)

7 New Wave songs? argh
Was this a headlining show or supporting the Foos?
It was a headlining show, one of only three. I believe you said you're attending one of those, so I best see a setlist!
Surprisingly, the new songs were a highlight of the show. When stripped of the Butch Vig sheen to their original form, they sound really fantastic. The contrast between old and new material isnt as noticable when they're played side by side. "White People For Peace" and "New Wave" blended in espescially well.
wonder if they will let everyone rush the stage like they did at the end of their show here in gainesville....it was amazing...they kept playing and let the crowd sing!
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!

great band. i have had the pleasure of watching them grow from tiny clubs in the axl rose/cowboy days, to opening mid sized venues in the SFAFC days, to headling said venues after new wave, then playing stadiums, and now my favorite festival. i can't think of a band that deserves it more.
well, you ask me why i'm drunk all the time it levels my head and eases my mind i just walk along and stroll and sing i see better days and i do better things

maybe not the best band scheduled...but i cant think of a better way to start the roo than "Thrash Unreal"
"If she wants to dance and drink all night then there’s no one that can stop her. She’s going until the house lights come up or her stomach spills onto the floor. This night is going to end when we’re damn well ready for it to be over. Worked all week long now the music is playing on our time. We do what we do to get by, and then we need a release"

I honestly tried to find sometime by Against Me! that i liked, but i didn't. I overheard their set last year at lolla while waiting for Silversun Pickups and thought it was awful. I guess its just not my cup of tea. Thrash Unreal is probably the best song i've heard from them, but it just sounds like a dropkick murphy's song.
