I have always enjoyed Pearl Jam when listening to them but have never really gotten into them that much besides just hearing their better known songs. I must say though, Yellow Ledbetter is sounding damn good right now out of my speakers.
I love that Pearl Jam is playing, its kind of waken me up from a slumber. Along with Trey in '02 and '04 and Radiohead in '06, this is one of the few Bonnaroo headliners I'm really excited about. I've taken a decade off of Pearl Jam for reasons I can't remember (I did Ten, Vs. Vitology and then stopped listening). I've never seen them live. With the Bonnaroo announcement, I put them back in the rotation and can't remember why I ever stopped listening/ have never gotten to a show.
I took some great advice in the Album recommendation thread and picked up the Gorge set yesterday. I listened to most of the first show today and some more songs have come up on my shuffle tonight. Its a great way to enjoy the parts of the catalog I know and acquaint myself with the parts I don't. I'll go back and offer some karma to whoever recommended the Gorge set....
Anyway, all I can say right now is- -I shouldn't have stopped listening to Pearl Jam ten years ago -Eddie Vedder is a great dude. -the more I listen, the more I can picture myself staking out a good spot for this set...here's hoping MMJ precedes them.
