This is what we all wished for. Led Zeppelin being there without being announced. A few too many sources are saying they will headline for this to be incorrect. I think Superfly did us a favor and Led Zeppelin will be announced shortly after tickets go on sale.
i hope they're not misreading lez-zeppelin....what a cruel trick
One or the other, but most likely someone either misread or mistook "Lez Zeppelin" as a misprint and the others were just getting their info from that source.

this is our news? who hires these people? i can copy and paste and I don't work in journalism....
Still seems a little ambiguous. On the NME homepage they say they'll be announcing a "surprise headliner" later that night, so it doesn't look like they just randomly screwed up...
Do you have a link or know when the surprise headliner will be announced?
Rock me mama like wagon wheel, rock me mama any way you feel, hey, mama rock me. Rock me mama like the wind and the rain, rock me mama like a south-bound train, hey, mama rock me...

I personally think NME published it because they got the exclusive from the band's promoter, but Superfly isn't going to announce it until after tickets go on sale so they don't sell to scalpers and non-Roo regulars. I still think they are going to be there.
hmm. yeahh too many big named websites/magazines have confirmed sources from the festival organizers for this to not be true. the Roo is just watching out for there fans because they know scalpers are going to be hesitant to jump on this so long as Zep isnt on the line up yet. so there just helping the die hard fans have an easier time getting tickets. then the furry will be unleashed.

I think some of these sources got too much information, and it wasn't supposed to be released until after tickets went on sale. The bottom line is, they may print new articles saying Metallica is the headliner, but I've yet to see a single RETRACTION.

Yes I am being optomistic
trippindaisy..you rock for optimism...on that note i'm heading off for the night
Read the Pollstar account. They insinuate that a summer tour announcement was going to be made. My guess is NME broke the story before they were supposed. The AP followed suit. And then Pollstar went along with it once they saw it had broke. In this hypothetical scenario, my guess is that the plan was to announce AFTER the Grammy's along with future tour plans...
NME took down the Zeppelin announcement that they had originally put up.... either its being hidden till a later date, they all screwed up when they saw lez zeppelin, or theyre just messing with our minds man!!!

As I mentioned earlier, the NME article, when it was up, had Led Zep as the suprise guest and still had listed in the line-up Lez Zep further down so I'm not sure how they could have screwed up.
Without some huge retraction or guarantee that they won't actually be there, the tickets could go ultra quick on these "accidental leaks" or even the chance of Roo announcing Zep "official" after the ticket day.
