Well, I enjoyed Petty's show, but honestly I wouldn't want to see him again. I have heard from several people that once you've seen one Petty show, you've seen them all. Now, I wouldn't mind seeing Mudcrutch or Petty and Winwood, but him alone doesn't really excite me. I do feel like he did pull out some cool stuff in 06...he jammed a pretty good bit, played some new songs and some covers, and of course Stevie Nicks was like the cherry on top of that night (seeing them play Stop Draggin' my Heart Around...wow...) but I don't know how good he will be again.
I've seen them 4 times since 2002, Roo 2006 was my favorite but it was quite a treat to get Southern Accent in Gainesville. They have established themselves as a strong touring act, done the 30th anniversary, maybe this tour he finally mixes it up. Personally I'd like more Wildflowers material since it's a "solo" album but the Heartbreakers were involved and on good terms with Petty during the process. Hopefully some new covers too for this tour.

Wildflowers is where its at. In his 05' tour he played "crawling back to you" it brought me to tears. i love shes the one/wildflowers/echo/last dj. Great stuff. and the classics, damn the torpedos, full moon fever, and southern accents!!

No way Superfly's bringing Petty back as a headliner this year. I didn't hate his show last time. But it's not like Widespread or someone whose act is constantly changing. Petty's act is set. He changed it up for us a little, but it's mostly him playing his most popular hits. So Superfly's going to bring Petty back to do the same show he did in 2006? To me thats inconceivable. While they can't satisfy everyone's musical tastes all the time, they've never been boring like that.
Tom Leadon, part of the Mudcrutch reunion album, lives in Nashville. How convenient for a possible Tom Petty & Friends. Considering the Mudcrutch situation is unique in that it's an unsigned band reuniting after 35 years of inactivity, maybe "Mudcrutch" could serve as the backing band for a night of Tom Petty & Friends. That would allow them to really mix up the set with some Mudcrutch, some Willburys songs, covers, etc
