Ok, first off, for all you naysayers out there talking about the corporate takeover at bonnaroo and that being the reason that daddy les isnt going to come back to broo and thats the reason he didnt show up last year, well i hate to tell you this, but he is playing langerado and R.E.M. is one of the headliners , plus last year on his website he said that he was sending his movie to bonnaroo because he couldnt make it, so thats les coming out and saying it right there, HE COULDNT MAKE IT. Another thought is that last year the bonnaroo beacon mentioned les like 3 or 4 times throughout the weekend, saying most of the time how he should have been there and they wish he would, dont you think if les claypool was saying fuck you to bonnaroo that bonnaroo could just as easily say the same thing and say fuck you les claypool we have a million more bands that want to play at our fest...but they didnt, i think most of you are just paranoid early wishful thinkers, come on people we have like a a little bit more than a month to wait and then we can start the rumoring.

I saw Les in Atlanta the night before 'Roo this year. He was chillin in his Bonnaroo 2002 tee after the show.
Anyways, I think Superfly didn't ask him to play. Think about it. This isn't the first year people have complained about the festival's mainstream direction. I've been hearing comments like these since I first went in 2005. I would be shocked if he wasn't scheduled or an addition this year. If anything, I'd say that's a slap in the face for Les.
This wasn't the first year he didn't play. He wasn't scheduled in '03 as well. I noticed the two years he didn't play were ones that followed him playing two shows in one year.
I'm a huge fan of Claypool, so I could go on and on. But what it comes down to is I don't really know. I'm pretty confident in the above theory or the fact that Superfly wants to keep the lineup "fresh" (This was the first year Robert Randolf didn't play).
Comments? Concerns? Tell me what you guys think of my reasoning.

He did play in '05. He was in Gabby La La's band. (But he was wearing a mask the whole time.)

Agreed, wholeheartedly dude. And we really don't know. I am pretty positive though that Superfly is just trying to switch it up and give new artists a chance and let the veterans take it easy every once in a while. Keep us on our toes and whatnot.....
That's a cool video. I never heard about that happening.
It was sooooo much fun! Les was joined by the members of ratdog one by one and played with each of them. And then Bob Weir came out for his last song and the crowd went craaaazy
