I sat through the whole thing. Amazing. Topped only by Tool in my mind. The guy truly owns. Mad Mad Skillz. He said it was his last show OF THE TOUR. Not of his career. That is where people are getting mixed up.

Uhhh... DJ Shadow kicked my ass... and like the other 30,000 that saw him that night. I was expanding my mind during his set... and I must say, that guy has serious energy and an ability to keep a party rolling - I totally forgot it was 3am as he was howling BONNNNNAROOOOOO! and he kept returning to the beats from Endtroducing that people really know - extremly trippy. I thought DJ Shadow was one of the top performers... incredible vibes.

definitely the highlight of the weekend for me. i caught most of sts9 then right to shadow. i hope to see him again sometime soon. one of, if not the, best latenite shows ever.
Thanks ya'll for answering me! DJ Shadow was by far my best show of the weekend, and it was not even live music! I was thinking I was crazy when NOBODY was talking about his show on the other threads....
It was his last US tour date and now he is in the UK or somewhere near there. If I was totally wealthy I would go see him abroad for sure!
Wow, just when you think you know it all, some artist brings you back down to the ground!

I am pretty sure he said it was his last US show so he wasnt holding anything back. And he tore it up. I left at three, but made it back to the campsite to be able to listen to him finish his set while going to sleep. THat was awesome. Speaking of awesome here is his first song I recorded. Good speakers are a must cuz my camera doesnt capture the best sound. video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-648301339591253109&hl=en Whats the name of this song anyway?

FYI Shadow and Cut Chemist doing Brain Freeze or Brain Placement together is a wholly different animal than just Shadow up there doing his show... Which is why he said it was his last show of the Tour. The SHADOW tour.

So a question for all you DJ Shadow followers... I hadn't seen or heard DJ Shadow before Roo, and I loved the set. I wonder is his recorded stuff just as good though? I was wandering through a record store the other day and saw some of his stuff for reasonably cheap and thought about buying it but decided on the Black Keys instead. Personally I felt like I enjoyed the show so much because I was there, not just because the music was so good... I wonder if the experience would be even close with the sounds just coming from some speakers...

That's a big 10-4 good buddy.
Pick up "Endtroducing" and "Preemptive Strike" to get you started.
