Yeah, I have a similar situation:
couple people I'm going with I think would wanna go see Pete Yorn, some wanna go to JBT. I, on the other hand am going to neither: I'm going to Charlie Louvin, to see a legend. Pete Yorn had allot of momentum when he first came out in the industry, lost allot of steam, kinda faded away.
I mean I liked what I heard from his debut, not enough to become a fan, but his newer stuff sounds soooo dull. He is a good talent though, not taking that away from him.

But if I had to choose between those two, go to John Butler Trio.
