So, I think that maybe there should be a thread where people could go and ask for opinions and advice about their schedule conflicts (like if you're deciding between two bands and somebody who has seen both could offer advice). I would be very grateful if anybody could offer advice on my conflicts, and if anybody has conflicts that I might have knowledge about I will offer my advice.
Conflicts: Rodrigo y Gabriela vs. Tea Leaf Green (I have seen Rodrigo y Gabriela play once already and they were good, heard good things about Tea Leaf Green) String Cheese vs. STS9 (I have seen Cheese play twice, both times were amazing, and they are breaking up, but I hear STS9 is amazing) Keller Williams vs. EOTO (love keller, hear great things about EOTO) Flaming Lips vs. Mule vs. Galactic.
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this
One of the most difficult decisions I'll ever have to make...
This decision just stresses me out!
but I'm leaning toward the majority of my time being spent at cheese, afterall it'll prolly be my last incident. As soon as I type it tho, I want some Sound Tribe.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
But as I've said before, I've got a "must see entire set" for each day (Manu Chao, Ween, Ornette Coleman). It looks like I can build a very good schedule around thse with only minor tent hopping and a few partial sets. Good job Superfly/AC.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

never any conflicts for me, I just hoof it and catch what I can...it's all good! I am psyched that The Philadelphia Experiment is late night though, that will be a choice show.

this year works out fairly well for me too! only conflicts are KOL>Franti>Hot Chip>Nightwatchmen(hippity hoppity) SCI>superjam(superjam almost definitely wins) Gogol>Hot Tuna(just go the ole tent hoppin way) Flips>Mule>Galactic(probably the worst conflict for everyone)

It just sucks that the two main acts in the Jazz tent that I want to see are all against the late night uber shows. Both Medeski & Maritn and Philly Experiment are playing at that time. I could see superjam now being Questlove, Ben Harper, Jack White, Robert Randolph, and Page McConnell along with a few other guys.

GOD I HOPE PAGE SHOWS AT SUPERJAM! also last year the superjam lineup got leaked the day before I left for roo through the AT&T blueroom page. It had been listed as TBA and then for one evening, tuesday before roo, it showed up as trey anastasio and mike gordon. It got pulled fairly quickly but keep your eyes open for stuff like that again this year. I remember I was SOOOOO pumped going to roo knowing that trey and gordo were gonna be rockin out together!

My conflicts
Kings of Leon v. Gillian Welch v. Hot Chip - Will most likely split between Kings and Gillian Welch (skipping Hot Chip)
The Roots v. Manu Chao v. Lily Allen v. Black Keys (Will most likely see the beginning of Lily Allen and all of Manu Chao - wait til Lollapalooza for Roots and Black Keys)
David Cross v. STS9 v. DJ Shadow v. TBD - (David Cross first, then a bit of STS9 or TBD if it's something crazy --> finish with Shadow)
Old Crow Medicine Show v. Dr. Dog v. Railroad Earth (Earth crushing, no idea what I'll do --> I love O.C.M.S. and Dr. Dog ---> Railroad Earth wil probably get placed on the backburner -- Chances are I'll see OCMS since it's a great Roo show)
Regina Spektor v. Hot Tuna (I don't know much about either of these two - any suggestions?)
Damien Rice v. The Hold Steady (probably the Hold Steady)
Ben Harper v. Franz Ferdinand v. Ween v. Spoon (GAH! Probably Ween and Spoon)
The Flaming Lips v. Girl Talk v. Sasha and Digweed (I might skip Girl Talk since I'll see him at Pichfork)
The Decemberists v. Wilco v. Feist (All of the Decemberists, most of Wilco, a little of Feist)
Saturday night is the only bad part of the weekend for me. I really want to see Girl Talk, and the Flaming Lips, but Galactic and special guests will be great. I'm thinking I'll hit Girl Talk, then Galactic, then FLips for a little, then dance my ass off at Sasha and Digweed.
