I was all for the "Mind expandings, psychedellic" option till you threw in Hooker and Ticks and Leeches at the bottom......2 of my favorite Tool songs that they never play. I'd give an arm to see Ticks and Leeches live.
It's gonna be super psychadelic, no question with their light show.
Mind Expanding just as Radiohead did last year. while Radiohead is more airy and ambient, Tool will be Harder and Darker but still embracing the art of intense buildup.
3rd eye and Ticks and Leeches would cause a meltdown for my psyche, and I am fully prepared for the ramifications. Bring it ON!
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
"They won't break me because the desire for freedom, and the freedom of the Irish people, is in my heart. The day will dawn when all the people of Ireland will have the desire for freedom to show. It is then that we will see the rising of the moon."
Mind Expanding, of course. I love Tool, but i don't wanna get my head kicked in by the likes of "Sweat" or "Jerk-Off", and certainly no "Hooker with a Penis".
Ticks in Leaches is so brash, but most tend to forget that it has about 3 minutes worth of some of the most peaceful and serene Tool to date.
The set is going to be mind blowing regardless of what they play........I definetly think we are over analyzing Tool.......they know what they are doing
"over thinking over analyzing seperates the body from the mind"
im going for psychadelic.
included in my dream set: 4degrees h. third eye pushit the grudge the patient parabol/parabola lateralus REFLECTION/DISPOSITION/TRIAD (talk about mind expanding) jambi wings 1&2 right in two
sooo many have a misconception of tool, many likely have never heard them, they have just seen a bad apple ruin the image of the band and their following. f'u'c'k' it all. let the music be the deciding factor. they will blow countless minds....

I like the idea that they play two sets. First hour is all songs from opiate through lateralus, take a 10 minute break, and come back and play 10000 days as a whole. That would be okay in my book.

Lucky guy, more then half a dozen shows and Third Eye still escapes me. The one show in New York in the last 8 years that I missed, and thats the one they played it.

On the Lateralus tour I got to see those 3 (no third eye) and it was pretty amazing. That was one hell of a set list that night. But every show I go to I say is better then the last somehow, so...

At this point I HIGHLY doubt that they will have any surprises in terms of setlist. But who knows, if Maynard and the gang are really feeling it on Friday night then anything can happen.
But yeah, if they whipped out Third Eye as a surprise I would go nuts. Or any of their older material for that matter...

There is no doubt in my mind that Tool will put on a great show. The only song I "have" to hear though is Right In Two. I jsut recently got into Tool because of that song. I probably jam to that song more then any other as well. Just a few weeks ago I was running in a ten mile race in Philly and I put that tune on for the last half mile, never ran as fast in my life....haha but anyway I was just wondering do they usually play Right In Two? because that would probably make my year

Here is what the current set list has been for the most part. Sometimes they throw in a rare gem. They have played Pushit recently at a few shows.
Jambi Stinkfist Forty Six & 2 Schism Lost Keys Rosetta Stoned Intension Right In Two Wings For Marie 10,000 Days Lateralus Vicarious Ænema
