I know that this was never released on a studio album....But I cant believe nobody has said 'Gabrielle'. That has to be the best (rockin) Ween song IMO. Dont get me wrong, I love Ween and what they create, but I wish they would make more songs like Gabrielle (not so 'out there' I guess im tryin to say)......
I really think I would crap pancakes if they played it!

If the setlist for Roo is anything like this....I think I will die happy. Just as long as they play Bananas and Blow, Transdermal Celebrations and The Mollusk. I think it will be ok. If they throw some Stroker Ace in there to that would be pretty sweet. Do they play alot of stuff from White Pepper live?

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed Fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio." -Hunter S. Thompson

So I went out and bought Chocolate and Cheese last week, my first ever Ween album. I saw their show at Lollapalooza last year, and I was impressed, but I held off to buy an album because my first impression of their studio stuff had always been eh...
But on everyone's recommendation, I went out and purchased Chocolate and Cheese, and fought my way through the first listen begrudgingly. However, instead of tossing the disc aside for a few weeks, I decided to fight the instinct and listened to the disc again. And then again... And it hasn't left my cd player since. I'm obsessed. So yesterday I ordered Quebec and The Mollusk. Which other discs do I need to have?
Now I face the challenge of deciding between Ween and Ben Harper at the Roo. I don't know what to do.
Thanks a lot everyone. It's nice to get involved in something I should've been entranced by years ago.

A good start (and Karma for having the tenacity to keep listening. Ween CD's generally tke time to warm up to, especially if yr not used to their music). If you like lo-fi, 4-track weirdness, than def. go for The Pod and Pure Guava. If weird lo-fi stuff isn't yr bag, give those you just bought some thurough listens and get 12 Golden Country Greats and White Pepper. Oh, and I know I've reccomended it before, but the Live in Chicago DVD kicks much ass and comes w/ a great live CD as a bonus.
