wait, why are your hope of the mars volta being added fading out!?!?!? not mine. cmon have faith!
Kind of a pessimist, I guess. Just trying to level-out some, so if they don't get added I won't be too depressed. I hope, wish, pray and long for it but, I got to keep myself in-check. I'm also a lottle drunk and am in one of those defeatist moods, I guess.

^Sorry guys! I guess I kinda bummed this thread out the other night. No one cares about my sh*tty, self-depricating bullsh*t, so let's focus on the important stuff... TORTOISE! Let's pray for a late-night slot but, damn....does it really matter? Early/mid evening would be a great way to end the "day". This is one show that I will not miss!
I've been trying to get this set since, well, 03! Tin Cans and Twine is simply FLAWLESS.
Also you said you didn't really dig Salt the Skies much until you saw the footage from disc 4...I had the exact same phenomenon!
Seneca, Stretch, anything from TNT, and On the Chin would all be prime candidates for an intimate late night set, but i get the feeling they will play during the day
Love to all the Tortoise fans, and Steve, enjoy a wedge of karma.

wow, just got done listening to "Standards"....holy hell was that a great album, if that is one of their less-accessable albums, then i cant wait to hear some others, cause i was accessing it just fine
i want it! where did you get it from? my local barnes and noble, best buy and borders ALL dont have that sh*t. i got my copies of tnt and its all around you from barnes but thats all they have.
btw, someone earlier said that its all around you is their worst album. i am absolutely in love it. i love tnt as well but all around you ranks a little higher for me.
so if thats their worst then holy shiz am i in for a ride.

I said it and I stand by it. I think it's a good album, but when looking at their output chronologically you notice how every successive album brought them to a new sound or idea. IAAY, while chock full of solid tunes, was more of a holding pattern. So yeah, their other album were better in large part because they were a lot more innovative when they were created. But hey, it's all opinion anyway. And again I love all their albums. I'm just saying that you should consider how $%* groundbreaking "Millions..." must have been 11 years ago...
ground breaking indeed! their earleir record surely ushered in a bad'a$$ style with elecdub and jazz and everthing great they do. the albums now are new progessional works of the style they already mastered. they have such a great style. i cant find their self titled anywhere but i want it bad.
differ'nt strokes for differ'nt folks man
karma for not being an assho'le about your opinion; it's so petty to see people argue their opinion on postboards, especially when it comes to music.
we should all meet up before tortoise plays and "get ready" for they show and head to the stage together.
