Sorry to start a thread, but seeing as they will be melting our faces come june, i thought some of you might be interested in Wilco streaming Sky Blue Sky tonight:
This is a great cd....pissing my pants thinking about this show at roo
edit: it seems as if they went back to more country than rock i.e. sounds like being there/a.m. more than a ghost is born/foxtrott is that just me or anyone else thinking this?

^^^These were my thoughts initially, but as I got deeper and deeper into the album, I became very impressed by the album. It's all of the chill simplicity of "A Muzzle of Bees" with the retained jamminess of "Spiders(Kidsmoke)." It's a much brighter album than a Ghost is Born. It's as if Jeff Tweedy's found a source of hope. I like it a lot.

I'm only about half way through currently - but I like what I hear so far. I think the guitar work on Side with Seeds is just fantastic, and this stuff should hopefully translate really well live.
We have a strict policy of not posting albums on here. Shows are fine, albums are not fine. This is why I deleted the links. I'm sorry to be the bad man. You can do this stuff through PM if you so desire. You can PM me if you'd like a link to the new album. Thank you.
I hear ya, Zoey. I'm a huge fan and I'm not sure what to think yet.
It's a weird little album -- but not weird in the guitar freakouts of AGIB, kind of way -- just some odd choices. That said, I think they've set themselves up for some serious, serious jam potential, if they choose to move in that direction. I just don't know about this one, yet.
I just put in Uncle Tupelo "still feel gone" to cleanse myself. Come to think of it though I do this with many of their albums and eventually start really liking them.
i going to listen to it again, but i am still unsure of it...i just listened to a wilco concert and became annoyed that they didn't include lets fight on the album
Yeah I definitely hear a lot of Being There in this album, which is definitely not a bad thing. I remember them playing Impossible Germany and Walken at lollapalooza last year and liking what I heard. Can't wait to hear some of these other songs live.

You might want to cleanse yourself more frequently. Everyone here talks about dream collaborations, mine would be for an Uncle Tupelo show. Jeff will be there with Wilco and Jay has a new Son Volt record out. Too good to happen, even at Roo.
that would be cool but most likely not. son volt was pretty good last year from what i saw before heading to stake out for the moe. show. im definately hoping for a little of the mermaid ave cds.
"im definately hoping for a little of the mermaid ave cds."
Tell me about it! They usually bring out "One by One", "California Stars" and "Airline to Heaven". Would love to hear some of the others but they kinda need that Billy Bragg voice.
I saw them at 9:30 club in D.C. this past October, Kicking Television pretty much nails their live show right now. Would love for them to mix it up for 'Roo.
