Upon first meeting Hank III, Minnie Pearl, a friend of Hank Williams Sr., said "Lord, honey, you're a ghost," as she was astonished by his striking resemblance to his grandfather.
Hank III needs to play @ Bonnaroo. He is country music royalty, he lives in Nashville, he is friends with many legendary country musicians, and he has an awesome backing band. Where's the country music at Bonnaroo???
There's some good live shows on the archive. I couldn't see his ass-jack stuff going over at the Roo. His C+W rocks though, as well as the Hellbilly stuff. Not only does he look like Sr., good Lord, he sounds just like him at times.
With this post, I'm officially a fountain wader. Yea, Me!

Yeah, Hank's really good. My friend who goes to Roo with me is always singin his tunes so I know that he'd be stoked. That would definitely be a very nice tent show.
I have been a fan of Hank III for many years. I agree that his Assjack material would not be a good idea for the Roo. But everything else would be just perfect. I know a lot of people who don't like country at all, but will listen to Hank III because he's completely different from any pop country artist out there. I would love to hear Dick in Dixie sunday morning at the Roo!
He doesn't like his dad, so I don't think they'll be playing together anytime soon. A friend of mine went to their show fairly recently here in Knoxville and, upon seeing him backstage, said "hey, say hi to your dad for me!" Hank III responded with, "you'll see the son of a bitch before I do."
If he played, I would just hope he could drag those badass pickers along with him for that one show. Without them, "D*ck in Dixie" and "Straight to Hell" just wouldn't be right.

III is the truth!
Definitely would bring some great pickers and maybe some surprise guests. I would love if he was there so more people would find out about him. His fans are loyal, but mention him to most people and they think you're talking about Hank Jr.

I agree III would be perfect for the Roo, i've been saying that for years....at least 2. His album "straight to hell" is one of the greatest outlaw country albums i've ever heard. "I was trippin on some axxx a latino gave to me, yeah, i was smokin morxxx till it knocked me off my feet...." i heard that album and thought, this is what country music is supposed to be. I gave a copy of that album to a old Hank I fan, and the guy loved it. "Pills I took", "crazed country rebel", "smoke and wine" are my favs
