I just got the remastered version of Relayer and Yes would be a perfect addition to the Roo. I found this too, which makes me think they could be a headliner in 08: "In February 2007, Jon Anderson said on 1210 AM Philadelphia that Yes will probably reunite in 2008 for a 40th anniversary tour and that Roger Dean is creating artistic projections for the shows." Yes as a Saturday headliner would be a bonnaroo cream dream.

Yes kicks ass! I saw them a few years back, and they still put on a great show. I was so happy that I got Close to the edge. I figured there was no way they would play this. Here is the setlist:
Firebird Suite Going For the One Drum solo -> Sweet Dreams Your Move False Start Jon Anderson Tour Song Improv Rick Wakeman Circus Music Improv I've Seen All Good People South Side of the Sky Close to the Edge Clap Long Distance Runaround -> Long Distance Reggaeround Wonderous Stories Roll Out the Barrel -> He's a Jolly Good Fellow Roundabout Owner of a Lonely Heart The Lady is a Tramp And You and I Awaken Yours Is No Disgrace
They are by far my favorite, with King Crimson of the original prog bands. Rediculously talented musician as well. That being said, I doubt they would be Saturday night. While I love them, and would be fine with it, I see them as more the Friday night band (Petty was on his 30th aniversary tour last year). Something bigger would be the Saturday night headliner.
Could you imagine:
Yes Radiohead and then who cares who else headlining?

Do you think they'd have the draw to be a headliner? I don't see their reunion on the same level as The Police. However they would be so awesome to see.
Damn greecian, that looks like a nice show. Long Distance AND Close to the Edge in the same night = me being jealous. Steve, I think they have the draw, but like greecianlover said they probably make more sense at the Friday spot. I know they are Friday worthy.

Is the Police reunion really THAT big of a deal... I mean, it's cool... about as cool as a Yes reunion, but I think it's less of an amazing thing than it is more of a serious thirst for decent rock music in the mainstream media.
ps. Yes and Pearl Jam would indeed be killer additions.

Haha, yeah, The Police reunion is THAT big of a deal. They were basically the biggest band of the 80's, called it quits in their prime, and their music is still relevant. If it werent that big then they wouldnt be selling out arenas in like 10 minutes.
absolutly ziggy. plus if you wanted to see the police by them selves, you'd spend almost as much as a roo tix. and at roo, look how many primo bands you get to go with the police!

Maybe it's just that I never got into them that much, but it'll still be sweet to see them.
The guidance counselor from my high school was way into the Police... I wonder what he'd make of me going to see them at a wild place like Bonnaroo....

Yes is already on tour this year ... they are going to be at summerfest and a number of other shows ... i saw yes, maybe around 72 and have seen them i bet 15 times ... you sort of either loved them or hated them ... i would love to see them again, esp if roger had something to do with them .... cr****
I really only like the stuff before "Tales from Topographic Oceans." That being said, I'd still be all for checking them out if that set list is like what they'd do.

Where did you find out they're playing Summerfest?

grecianlover... we're like the same person

imagine king crimson playing schizoid man and larks tongues latenight after the yes show? then a superjam with steve howe and robert fripp? oh man. King Crimson is such a tremendous band, but fripp would never do bonnaroo. I think he hates people or something, so he tries to stay as undiscovered as possible.
sorry i read that wrong on the yes site, it isnt yes at summerfest it is Asia ... now i saw asia when they toured for that year or so, but Asis is no Yes ... cr****

i saw YES once in the early 1990's. it was on the only tour that they did with all the members, the "old" YES (Steve Howe, Bill Bruford, Rick Wakeman, etc) and the "new" YES (Trevor Rabin, Alan White, etc.) together on stage. it was after they released the "Union" album. it was a great show with all the best hits. i think that they would be great at Bonnaroo but not as a headliner.
