what's up with thursday at bonnaroo? anyone got any details? it seems as though we are getting a full extra day of bonnaroo. hell yeah. and like probably at least 20-30 more bands? maybe? so can we arrive wednesday morning now? i can't imagine the music starting on thurs when everyone is still stuck in line and waiting to set up camp and everything else. or will they let people in wed. night? i hope they release something on this soon.
this has been brought up in several threads before, and i think the main consensus so far is that thursday is probably going to be the same as every year.
I am positive that neither of them are playing then, like their myspaces say. That's the point, I don't think that the date and time on myspace is very reliable.

It would be sick if it grew to the point where cars are allowed in Wednesday night. I doubt that would happen this year, but definately possible in the future, since the festival doesn't stop growing.

I'm hoping by 2050, Bonnaroo's a sovereign state...

I'm not sure what "same as every other year" means. In 2003 there really wasn't anything Thursday, in '04 there were like 2 small acts schedules on stages or tents. In '05 there were 9 or so acts in the tents, and last year we had 12 in the tents. Thursday acts have increased every year, I don't know why we shouldn't expect the trend to continue...
f wonder if there will be any larger acts? Maybe a mini headliner like Wilco or something similiar that would still play another set later on in the weekend.

Didnt they make a point of saying they are listing it as a 4 day fest? I'm not totally convinced we'll get a full day of music thursday, but thats what its seeming like to me.

In time my friend, this utopia will be achieved.....
I saw this thread and thought someone was gonna be talking about the band Thursday from NJ. I used to like them a lot though haven't listened for prob a year or so now, but yeah... They def have no place at Bonnaroo. Anyway...

as long as they let us in on wednesday morning, it would suck to have to arrive with music starting that day, that would be chaos, not that it isn't already, but it would be worse, so i'm thinking bonnaroo is actually Wednesday afternoon-Monday afternoon, i think thats how late you can stay on monday, maybe a little music wed night too? that'd be even better

For selfish reasons, I hope they don't make Thursday a full day, and instead start about the same time as last year, and just extend it into late night Thursday. A full Thursday late night makes plenty of sense, without backing the weekend up into Wednesday. Seeing as I can only take one day off of work this year (Friday), I won't get in until about 12-1 AM on Thursday night/Friday morning. I figure it will take about 30 minutes to set up camp, and then I can catch at least a few hours of late night action.
Regardless of the circumstances, I wish the folks at Superfly would tell us now so that arrangements can be made for the people who come to get the full value of the Bonnaroo weekend.

2003 was the first year of the Thursday nights...and it was a total surprise, no one knew until we rolled in the gates and they handed us the schedule. I remember that Antibalas played a SICK set that night.
that Antibalas show was incredible, and not knowing about it in advance made me feel like a kid at Christmas!! Man that's one of my best bonnaroo memories!!

Yeah, that's what I meant to have put. I mean I want to be a five day festival. As a matter of fact, it should be a week. No, a month. No, a year. No, it should never end. BONNAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....And the never-ending howling would bring music to my ears.

I emailed them about day parking being open on Thursday and they replied confirming day parking would be available all day on Thursday (last year they turned people away from day parking during the day on Thursday). So that would lead me to believe they plan on having people there earlier........
