Totally I think he should def. sit in on super jam for a least a bit.
I think thats very possible. Like I said. Tom doesnt do insane amounts of work with TNW. Most of their shows are randomly placed and at their own leisure. I just found it odd that Toms in the midst of a RATM reunion, and decides to play Roo with TNW. Really leaves the door open for some crazy possibilites.
I was born in the back seat of a Yellow Cab in a hospital loading zone and with the meter still running. I emerged needing a shave and shouted 'Time Square, and step on it!

The Nightwatchman is just Tom by himself, isn't it? I don't think there's a band.

My bad, I always forget that. The only time I ever saw TNW was some Axis of Justice show back in late 03 I think. Serj was there and a bunch of other musicians. Some folks sat in. I have never seen TNWs Myspace page and noticed on really cool thing.
Mr Morello has been good friends with some folks who I've known since early 03 (Hence me being at that show). They are listed in his top friends there. They are an extremely impressive band live, Ive never gotten the same effect from their recorded material. I think alot of people here will like them. Tom produced some of their tracks.
Just do me a favor and check them out, I always enjoy their company and are one of the few bands I like to spread the word on.

This is what I hope happens at Bonnaroo:
"What was supposed to be a solo acoustic set by Morello, under the guise of his protest-singing alter ego the Nightwatchman, turned into a plugged-in all-star throwdown with a guest list that included Guns N'Roses/Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash, Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell, MC5 guitarist Wayne Kramer, Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt and Primus leader Les Claypool, among others. Morello, in fact, didn't even hold back the surprises, starting the show with the ensemble thundering through the Jane's Addiction favorite "Mountain Song" and promising more where that came from.
He did play several songs from his politically charged Nightwatchman debut album -- "One Man Revolution," coming April 24 -- but Morello and company also rocked their way through the MC5's "Kick Out the Jams," Rage's "Guerrilla Radio" and a fierce, set-closing rendition of Woody Guthrie's "This Land is Your Land," complete with electric guitar solos and the final, censored verse that's unfamiliar to most listeners."
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.

This sounds like a sweet superjam ala GRAB, but i think i rather see a true superjam again this year.

That would actually be bad because I would have a heart attack if that happened I would be so excited.
Do the nightwatchmen mean rage against the machine is possibly playing... maybe completly by surprise. if all goes well @ coachella.
I'd say very very doubtful. Tom has a few other solo gigs around, and I really dont think the Roo is the right place for Rage Against the Machine. I love them, but we don't want another Woodstock 99.
There are several videos up of the Nightwatchmen featuring Slash, Perry Farrell, Wayne Kramer, Nuno Bettencourt and Les Claypool from SxSW iun Austin this past week. Check them out. I really enjoy the one of Tom Morello, Perry Farrell, Nuno Bettencourt, and a host of other musicians at the hotel cafe showcase doing an acoustic cover of Sweet Emotion.
Guys, you wont believe it. I just got back from Austin, texas cause i was at the SBSW music festival. I get there wed night, tom morello's set is on thurs at 10pm at a club called the Parish. Tom comes out , announces that he is the nightwatchman and that he will be playing songs from his new album soon, but first he wants to bring some friends out. Out comes Brekin Meyer ( from the movie GO ) to play drums, wayne cramer from the MC5's on accoustic guitar, Slash from guns and roses on lead guitar, and for a lead singer.......Perry Farrell. They played 3 Janes songs all together, left the stage, tom preformed his whole album- half accoustic, halfback bt Perry Farrell's new band Satelite Party( who I saw on Fri). Tom then finishes the show with " Guerrillla Radio " by Rage accoustic- then wayne cramer, slash, perry ferrell, alexie murdoch, and......les claypool come out to sing " this land is your land" by woodie guthrie. Un fucking believable. Tom ends by saying " godnight austin, hope you have a great weekend. try to top that shit." SBSW rules!!!!!
Tom's show was the highlight, I saw him 2 days later standing backstage at the unveiling of Perry Farrell's Satellite party. I am looking forward to seeing who he teams up with at the ROO. He seems to have a lot of friends and carrys some respect. Also, I saw Galactic play with Gift of Gab from Blackolicious, and Lyrics Born. If this is the show they do at the ROO, hold on to your hats, cause it was one of the best live shows I have ever seen, and Ive seen a lot. Looking foward to swapping more stories at the ROO>
does he usually have a bunch of guests at his shows? i know he hasn't done a whole lot of full length sets as the nightwatchman, but if he has a bunch of awesome guests, i'll almost definitely see him, and if it's just tom morello singing folk songs, i'll probably pass unless there's nothing good going on at the time. the answer to this question will make or break my attendance at his set.

From the Nightwatchmans myspace:
"Tom has presided over a Tuesday night Nightwatchman residency in LA since November at Hotel Cafe, which has featured many of his musical cohorts including Serj Tankian, Perry Farrell, Shooter Jennings, Nuno Bettencourt, Sen-Dog from Cypress Hill, Jill Sobule, Boots Riley of The Coup, Alexi Murdoch, Jon Foreman from Switchfoot and others. Upcoming guests include Ben Harper and Butch Walker."
I could definitely see Ben Harper showing up and probably a few others too.
