Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
It doesn't necessarily mark them out of Bonnaroo (Glasto is the week after Roo), but its not encouraging news. Losing Pearl Jam was bad enough, but I don't know if I could take The Arcade Fire not making it to Manchester.

i agree. The Arcade Fire is one of those bands i want to see at bonnaroo so bad. I think they mentioned something about a extensive U.S. tour coming soon so maybe if they don't do roo i can catch them on their tour.

yeah Glastonbury being only a week after Bonnaroo might affect us more than i like. But they are playing a show in London and then 4 days later playing a show in Montreal so i still see it as a good possiblity.

That list is silly. anyways, I've seen the arcade fire twice (first time was before anyone had ever heard of them) and they completely blew me away both times. I really hope they are at broo. 5 or 10 years down the road these guys will be known as one of the best rock bands around.
saw them at ACL when it was 107 degrees, they came out in suits and started sweating like crazy, later throwing water bottle to the crowd, even one of the guys on stage passed out after hitting a gong so hard...it was great
...as does everyone! It's a phenomenal record. If Arcade Fire doesn't make it to Bonnaroo, we'd better get Radiohead, Floyd or Phish.
After several listens, I wouldn't exactly call it phenomenal. It's a step down in quality from Funeral, but I really didn't see them producing anything on that level again. I mean that's a pretty high bar to get over. But still, a solid effort with a bunch of great tunes and a couple duds.

I think Neon Bible surpasses Funeral.
Can't wait to hear it on vinyl.
The vinyl will be great. Black Mirror and Intervention just sound so perfect for vinyl... Most people consider Funeral is a huge hurdle to get over. While that may be true, Neon Bible is certianly no step backward. And, judging as a complete album, it's in my opinion more consistent than Funeral. Intervention, Black Mirror, and (antichrist...) are gems, and the re-arranged No Cars Go is a highlight as well. And while consistency might gain fans, here it doesn't sacrifice artistic depth. The strings and pipe organ bring to mind a religious experience, while the lyrics indict corporate religion and the establishment. The sum of the parts is, for me, a phenomenal record...
Am I the only one who thinks they mixed this album to sound like a worship album? I mean, yeah Neon Bible, I know, but it's just too over-the-top for me so far. Still want to see them live though. I don't dislike the songs, just the choices in production.
i personally love the album, it will definetly be a headphone album, it's unclear if the leak will be close to the final mix, some parts sound muddy, or maybe its just the quality of the d/l i got.
I remember when Built To Spill's last album leaked, the phrase "Who is Mike Jones" repeated throughout the whole album
All the "leaked" copies seem to be the same, just from all the chatter.
There's a lot of mud and from all accounts, the sound quality will be much better. As for the mix, yeah, I think we're getting the finished product as far as the music itself goes. I don't think there's any sort of "Mike Jones" factor on this puppy. ;D
I personally love the fact that they've incorporated religious themes throughout the whole album. The lyrics to Invervention are amazing. There's alot of war themes on there too. I think it's very intentional, given the fact that they're only playing churches on this litttle mini-tour they're on right now.
EDIT: I think the album is more of a political statement than anything else
