How would everyone in here feel about Down playing 'Roo? I think they could be embraced...they have a groovy southern hard rock feel and would sound great during a warm summer gloaming.

love Down, not gonna happen....first off I could NEVER see Phil Anselmo walking around with a bunch of hippies...second, if there would ever be a metal/hard rock band at Roo it should be Clutch.

hmm.. i agree with you on the Down.. but clutch at roo.. dont get me wrong, i love clutch (seen them over 40 times) but clutch at a festival.. clutch just dosent have that "open-air" sound. they WOULD be insanely great on the sonic stage though.. and we know they can do a 2 1/2 hour set.. ugh.. i dont know what to think

yeah, they for sure could do the long set! did you see them at sounds of the underground?....they sounded pretty good to me!
side note: you've seen them 40+ times?!, damn i thought my 18 was a lot!
Clutch or Down? I'm so pumped for the new Down album. Down announced a few shows on the northeast that I'm looking forward to catching. If I can't see 'em at Roo, at least they are playing here.
^^have you heard any of the new songs, i've got a few, they are fantastic.
no, i didn't go to the sounds of the underground.. was supposed to get in through one of the bands, but then they found out non-headliners didn't get any guest list
but as far as new songs, i saw them 4 times on the December tour, so i think i heard pretty much anything new they got. (btw, it you ever see the Viva La Bam with Clutch, im the one wearing the red bloodhound gang shirt)
A lot of bands may put on a good show. That being said, not all of them immediately become great for Bonnaroo.
I love everyone's optimism regarding groups they like, but we've got to face the reality - Bonnaroo's not going to have active rock or metal anytime soon.
(side note: when I write active rock, I'm referring to the radio station format, which currently features Stone Sour, Three Days Grace, Godsmack, etc. Unfortunately, I think both Down and Clutch get played on these stations)

is clutch ever on anything other than college radio???
clutch's fanbase.. well.. we gotta face it.. we tend to get a little DRUNKER than most bands fans at shows.. and not happy drunk
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
Never know what kind of band theyll have.If there gonna get metal bands at Roo, Sure Down would be cool . But I couldnt see Phil at Bonnaroo. He would probably definetly set a record for most curse words used at Roo if he did play. You know Phil rants.
I love Down, I'm a huge fan, and I remember mentioning them on here before, even though I know it'd probably never happen. So when I logged in to Inforoo just now and saw a thread titled "Down" and a thread above it titled "A Bustle In Your Hedgerow" I got real exited... The latter of the two is the name of Down's second album. Anyway... Wishful thinking.
Still can't find that mp3 anywhere! Anyone else get tickets for Down's upcoming tour? I got mine for an April show @ the Electric Factory in Philly, can't wait!

I don't see it happening. Phil would probably ruin the vibe with one of his countless drunken rants. I can just hear him insulting all of the "godd*mn hippies" that aren't acting as hardcore and "insane" as he would like. I can't see him/them accepting the invitation even if it was offered. Down, as a band, might be okay....But Phil is just a macho d*ck. IMO
