That kind of happeend to me. I just got to the front row in front of the keyboards (I thought it was gonna be John Medeski and wondered where the Moog was) and just fell asleep against the railing. The guy next to me woke me up as they brought Trey's guitar out to tune, and then again when it was about to start. He was cool.
A viscious cacktail of sun and party favors led to Claypool tearing my mind open during the Oysterhead set on Friday (which was awesome and terrifying) That led to me missing Petty. That was my only regret. I paced myself and had an amazing rest of the weekend. We were in BFE Camp Zoolander btw. I hope to meet some of you guys next year. Then again, there are a lot of things I "plan" to do next year.
Top 3 Regrets in Order: 1) Not seeing MMJ. (The setlist blew my mind when I found out about it.) 2) Standing in line to NOT see Lewis Black instead of catching Sonic Youth. 3) Being too zoned out to realize a really good looking woman was hitting on me before the Dr. John set. When I came back down, she was gone and I was kicking myself. Then I zoned back out again...
Losing my fiance before Bright Eyes and not being able to enjoy the show. I cried during First Day of My Life and Lua because I knew we were missing a moment. Then missing most of Death Cab because I couldn't find him. Next year we're either carrying cell phones or walky-talkies.
i was watchin superjam for then during Suskind, i decide ill never see Dr John again i will go check out him play so i watch three songs and then i come back in the middle of a GRAB song, later did i realize was during the time i left superjam Phil had come on and played 2 songs with GRAB. I mean Dr John was great from what i say, but whens the next time you'll ever see Phil with the Duo playing Casey Jones and GDTRFB. alright well
i really regret not seeing oysterhead. i've heard it was phenomenal. i tried to see Robert Randolph and Cat Powers during that time and didn't get to see enough of either one do the time slot justice. i did that a couple of times and got burned each time. lesson learned--i'm going to just try to see one band during a time slot so i can get the full intensity of the show.
these videos really did turn out awesome people!! I can't stop watching them. You've inspired me to buy a video camera just for next years Roo......or whenever I see Oysterhead next
My biggest regret definitely was waking up so flippin' early, and falling asleep before any of the late night acts. I didn't catch anything past 11:30 the whole time I was there.
I regret not pitching a tent with the Inforoo crew. Sounds like they had a good time. Hopefully I'll get setup next year and be in a better position to catch some of the earlier shows.
Edit: I also regret missing Electric Apricot, but I'll see it if/when the DVD comes out... yay!
