I think we are actually more reliable than Pollstar when it comes to Bonnaroo. Anyways,is it me or are the bands announcing their Bonnaroo dates alot sooner than usual?
you guys got me all wrong... common is ok... and i will go see him depending on conflicts..... i love hip hop and thought j5 was one of the best shows last year... i doubt common will create that kind of energy and crowd... i hope he does cause im all about seeein good shows....but this was all started form someone saying that common and mmj should do late night and i voiced my opinion about that... i never said they werent good or put dow any fans... just they are not gonna play late night at roo if a hip hop act did late night from this line up i would hope it is atmosphere....... sorry to have burst any bubbles or ruffled any feathers

Is it just me or was pollstar a little more bold about making predictions in previous years. I'm not talking about when artists are playing. I'm talking about predicting the next additions before they were announced. It seems like this year they are just waiting for the announcements then slowly filling in the holes. Maybe it's because of some of the misses they had last year, like saying tom petty was going to be there. Maybe I'm wrong, but what does everyone else think.
wonder if that means their putting up acts against the headlines as had been rumored. hope that doesnt mean a radiohead/ramble dove conflict, cuz i really wanted to see radiohead

I dont see why they would start this year to put acts up against the headliners, as i think these are pretty much the strongest headliners the roo's had as in popularity. Then again, that could be a reason why they are.

i would have to disagree with you... in terms of their previous fanbase this is by far the weakest headliners ever.... although ive never seen petty and am very excited to see him...and with the headline he will play everything so that will be sweet... i would not be heart broken if they had some stuff goin on during radiohead... but i doubt it... they always play the headliners louder than when there are acts on the other stages... and i dont see them turning down the volume on the headliners..... as far as overall number of fans radiohead has the edge... but if ya took a poll at previous roos as to who people would want to headline and radiohead would be a good distance down the list, bonnaroo was not built onwho has the most fans it was based on alot of different types of music that all have a similar festive mood...an energy about them....i dont know if radiohead brings that to the table.... i have all of there albums... and listened to them alot.... when i felt like lying in bed and being depressed or need to be put to sleep....but i never thought of them as i cant wait to rock out to radiohead at roo.....
I'm not trying to be disrespectful here, but you obviously have no clue what to expect from Radiohead live, so why keep talking about it? Are they going to bring the same exact kind of energy as headliners in the past? No, probably not....but to keep bringing up the depressing label is just ignorant. And I mean that in the true sense of the word....you just don't know. This band will send you through such a wide range of emotions it is unbelievable. In all, you should expect one of the most energetic, life-affirming shows you have ever seen.

that is what i keep hearing...and i am gonna give them a chance.. i am excited to see if they are the worlds greatest live band.... and as far as ignorant and not knowing...i know what the music does for me... ignorance would be to comment on something i dont know... i just simply stated what the music evokes in me.... hopefully i will be getting on and commenting that it was the greatest show ever after i see em...
The ignorant comment was regarding their live show - something you admittedly don't know about.
Keith man, you're living up to every negative stereotype I had of this supposed scene before I first attended Roo. Luckily, it didn't take me long to realize this attitude is that of a sadly monotonous minority that seems to ruin it for the rest. Please dude, switch up your tone a bit and stop prattling on about stuff you don't really seem to know all that much about. My god man, your karma level should be telling you something. It's great that you have an opinion, but once you've made it, there's no need to repeat it in half a dozen rambling posts that don't seem to have any other point besides Roo ain't up your alley this year as much as in years past. Fine, we get it, that's great. If it's so subpar, please don't waste your cash on a ticket. There's no need to try and convince everyone else that their excitement is unfounded. Talk about "depressing" and "whiny." You're swimming in it homey. Towel off, cut the sh*t, and join the rest of us in some decent conversation about the festival!
See my above post. Your response pretends like it didn't happen. I'm guessing most of us would love to hear your opinion on all things Roo related or otherwise, but there's no need to brandish a bat and hover over every dead horse you come across. Your arms will get tired and the horse will start to smell...real bad. Also, your posts seem to steadily contradict themselves, which isn't much fun either.
i cant wait to see radio head man!!!!!! this is gonna be sick... i hope that they dont play at the same time as death cab for cutie.... that would be an impossible situation!!!! got my fingers crossed they will have bo bice back!! see ya there!!!

I'm done brother. It's like talking to a loaf of bread.
For what it's worth Pearl Jam and MMJ are touring together up until June 3. This of course does not mean that Pearl Jam will be at Bonnaroo, but it does put them one step closer to being added. I personally like Pearl Jam, but I do not think they should play Bonnaroo. It's not about the fans or anything. I just don't think they are the type of band that Bonnaroo is normally looking for.
damn... i bent to the will of the conformist forum and im still "a moldy loaf of bread"?? i dont understand... i have molded my opinions to fit nice and neatly with the other 12 pages of comments... this is a repetitive fanboy gushing fest..... sheep i say!!! sheep.... ill get out of here and go to a discussion that involves more than one point of view.... a little disagreement over who should play latenight and yall get yer panties in a bunch... i ve stepped in enough stinky sheep shiit for the time being.... but ill think of all of you every time i see a nice big pile of horsey roo poo on my way to oysterhead and umph/bisco

damn saintcash... thats risky... this forum is no place to voice yer thoughts as to who is or is not "bonnaroo's type of music" i just took a shiitload of heat because i comented that a couple of the bands this year dont really fit the festival.... btw pearljam would be a much more fitting headliner then a particular headliner this year ... but it is nice to see someone actually voice an opinion instead of just agreeing to what everyone else has said....dont let the fanboys here discourage ya!
also i am thinking the flaming lips and tea leaf green will be added... tlg has a show on wednesday in chatanooga so that looks possible.... also i saw somwhere that derek trucks is in tennesee around roo time... its not on his website though.. i think i read it in an article about him playin with clapton.. so maybe we will get lucky and derek trucksband will be there....and as for impossible additions i wish we could have janes addiction, jurassic5 and john butler... claptons euro tour is on break in june i know its impossible but clapton would be awesome... maybe next year.... cream would be nice also
Hey it's just a hop, skip, and a few thousand mile jump across the pond. It's possible, but I agree improbable. However, I also agree that the Flaming Lips are a likely addition. They are touring and hitting festivals, weren't at Bonnaroo, and (while not a definitive statement, but can't hurt) are getting play on radio Bonnaroo. I REALLY want these guys to be there.
ya i have never seen the lips live... almost every site that has rumored bands mentions them so ill keep my fingers crossed... it seems like if they are gonna add a band of that nature they should be doing it soon...by the way is there anyway to know how many tickets they have sold to this point?
I am pretty sure that TLG said that they are not playing the roo this year on their website. Sorry I dont have a link, but I read that on this board and I was pretty sure that there was a link provided.
ahh puregrr i see from yer quote yer a ben folds fan.... im excited to see him... ive seen him before but it will be sweet to see him at roo...ive always wondered why he wasnt there previously... oh well better late than never.... i hadnt heard that about tlg... thats unfortunate... i would really like to see them back again... maybe ill try to catch the show in chatanooga the wedsnight before roo... that would be a great start to the weekend... ill have to check how far it is from roo
