Close your eyes. Picture a convict. What's he wearing? Nothing special, baseball cap on backwards, baggy pants... he says something ordinary like... 'yo, thats shizzle.' Okay. Now slowly open your eyes again. Who are you picturing? A black man? Wrong. That was a white woman. Surprised? Well, shame on you.

King Crimson is never mentioned in talks even though it does make sense to put them on the bill. I mean Adrian Belouw lives in Franklin, TN (south of Nashville on I-65 for you non-TN folk). Yeah I thought it was rather strange reading the lists and seeing Maroon 5 as a hot band for roo and then I looked at the date. At least it was when they were still a decent group and not completely pop.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
1. Tom Waits (Man Man into Waits Latenight would be my ideal, but beggars can't be choosers) 2. Band of Horses 3. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band 4. My Morning Jacket 5. Arcade Fire

1. The Shins - perfect for a nice afternoon set on Which Stage 2. Sufjan Stevens - just the right kind of mood for the Roo 3. The Mars Volta - late night, I'll accept no less! 4. My Morning Jacket - I'm intrigued, as I've never seen them live before 5. Radiohead - how awesome would it be for them to close the festival?
