I know Roo is 65 days 3 hours and 8 minutes away but........does anyone remember that long range weather site somebody posted last year? It was dead on! Could not remember how far in advance it gave a reading.......
So accuweather was getting all the action here last year if I remember right, but all I see is a 15 day outlook. I'm one of those people that won't believe any forecast longer than about 48 hours.
Yea, most of the time I'm with you Aquarium, pretty distrusting of any weather forecast let alone a long range one. But unfortunately last year the www.dryday.com was right on.
Well, in general they are not perfect of course. But www.dryday.com gives this bit information to take into consideration when looking at it's prediction:
One must remember that the system is specifically designed to forecast DRY periods, not rain/snow periods. The RISKY (black) and TRANSITIONAL (gray)days are simply weak spots in the month. The weather forecast says, “IF IT’S GOING TO RAIN IN THE MONTH, EXPECT MOST (not ALL) OF THE RAIN TO LAND ON RISKY DAYS”. Granted, the height of the risky days does suggest more chance of rainfall during the higher ones, but still it is not an aggressive weather forecast for rain or snow.

This is from dryday.com
Wednesday June 8 - higher chance of rain, 55% Thursday June 9 - higher chance of rain, 45% Friday June 10 - chance of rain, 15% Saturday June 11 - lower chance of rain 12%
And this is from the Farmer's Almanac:
June 2005 - Southeastern USA 1st-3rd. Some rain over the Southeast. 4th-7th. Pleasant over the region. 8th-11th. Thunderstorms for most areas. 12th-15th. Fair and hot.
Yeah, but like everyone said, weather reports can be a crock of nuts sometimes. I was in Raleigh the other weekend to see Panic and they had predicted rain for a week for Friday night starting at 8:00. Even, when we were walking into the venue a security guard was looking at the forecast and told us the rain was going to start in about an hour and last all night. It didn't rain one drop!
So just be prepared for the rain, but hopefully it won't be that bad! I'm fine as long as the place doesn't turn into a big mud soup.

Ok, I think I see what's going on here. This board won't let you say sh*t. Ok, I see now. Ok, well, that was weird. I would type sh*t, then i would post it and it was say nuts. So I was like WTF??? Did you guys notice that??
boy that dryday.com site sure has me drooling about the roo forecast.....i hope it is right ;D
I hope it's right too, but also hope that the possibility of rain for a couple of days beforehand doesn't make it a muddy mess trying to get in and get settled...

could you post the link please??....or is it only available with the 'premium' option??
Here's a link. Not positive it will click through correctly, but worth a shot....
Otherwise go to www.accuweather.com, then enter "Manchester, TN" in the small box in the upper left and hit Go. Then click on "15 Day Forecast" in the upper middle (above the short term forecast). Finally "All 15 Days" to get out to the end...

Accuweather's looking a little soggy these days. But dryday's still looking pretty good for the actual weekend. Hope that it's the most reliable source as it seemed to be last year.
Looks to me there's a weather system they are predicting to be in the area sometime in the next two weeks. So much can happen with that between now and then. It can hit later or earlier, or completely blow North or South. Or it could dissapate completely. We'll know a lot more towards the end of this week.
If you have watched the trends at all, the rain just keeps moving up earlier and eariler. At first, the rain was going to come after the weekend. Now it's moved up to the weekend itself. My guess is, it will move up further to the beginning of the week.
Not a problem, I'm no weather man, but I have noticed the trend over the last couple days. I don't know about Manchester, but I'm about 500 miles North of there and our weather forecasters keep saying it's going to rain anyday now, and we've had nothing but a sprinkle over the last two weeks.
When it comes to rain, I don't believe it until I see it. However, I do like the temperatures they are prediciting right now. I'll take mid-uppder 70's any day of the week.
From the NWS Forecast discussion for middle Tennessee this afternoon:
LONG TERM FORECAST... SUMMER-LIKE CONDITIONS RETURN ON SUNDAY AS THE BERMUDA HIGH BEGINS TO INFLUENCE OUR WEATHER. EXPECT TEMPERATURES IN THE MID 80S AND AN INCREASE IN HUMIDITY LEVELS. WITH THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY, AFTERNOON SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE THROUGH MID WEEK.
You guys gotta keep in mind. This is the time of year where they say it may rain everyday because they have no idea. Depends on the heat of the day whether the "cluster" storms pop up or not. Keeping my fingers crossed. Keeping my eyes closed on the weather predictions till closer to leave time.
