Hangout Fest has turned into Sand In My Boots Fest. The lineup will be handpicked by Morgan Wallen. Supposedly will be multi-genre. I wonder how diverse the lineup will be?
This article has some additional info on the fest. Their contract with Gulf Shores is up in 2026, so my read on it is that they were told they would not be renewing in the current format.
“We’re excited for this,” said Grant Brown, director of recreation and cultural affairs for the city of Gulf Shores. “We’re very pleased this is the direction they’re going for 2025.”
I’m sure that direction has nothing to do with the different demographic make up of a Morgan Wallen show. That said, it will be interesting to see the fest’s interpretation of “multi-genre” and “eclectic”
“Creating a Festival with Morgan has been a dream come true … and some of the most fun I have ever had booking a show!” said Stacey Vee, executive vice president of the AEG Presents production company Goldenvoice and producer of Stagecoach. “I can’t wait for fans to come and experience one of the most eclectic and electric lineups and on-site experiences the world has ever seen.”

WTF is Future Islands doing on this lineup? No way War On Drugs doesn’t throw this Zevon cover in. I didn’t know it was in their repertoire but it was a welcome surprise in the rain at Bourbon And Beyond.
