Seems like a Primavera lineup. Not much hip hop or heavy music as I would have expected. Some cool undercard names but lacking a larger "whoa" IMO. Upper tier indie acts are fine, but man feels like Idles and Turnstile are pretty much the house rock acts vs. being anything new. Would be a great time but probably not the year that gets me back over
Electronic lineup is hella deep. Don’t sleep on Barker, one of my absolute favorite artists
hit me with a list of the best. My pal says “very little EDM”.
My personal favorites: Amelie Lens Barker Caribou Floating Points Live INVT (Florida represent) Jamie xx Jane Fitz (exceptional DJ) Joy Orbison Kelly Lee Owens Kia (another exceptional DJ, runs a great record label called Animalia) Paul Kalkbrenner Sherelle
Others objectively good and great I know others love: Armand van Helden Brutalismus 3000 Carlita DJrum John Talabot b2b DJ Dustin (don't know the latter, but the former rips and has recently returned from a touring break) DJ Koze Mad Miran b2b John Talabot (not familiar with this AHD DJs name, but enjoy) Mala Junta (I'm only familiar with D.Dan here, but looks sick) DJ Masda Moritz von Oswald: Silencio (guessing this is a live thing?) Nicola Cruz Live DJ Python Shed Live Simo Cell Live (a bit polarizing, not my personal jam)
Best: Anohni & The Johnsons, Chanel Beads, Chappell Roan, Charli, Crystalmess, Destroyer, Djrum, FKA Twigs, Florence Sinclair, Floating Points, Joy Orbinson, Julie, Kali Malone, DJ Koze, LCD Soundsystem, MJ Lenderman, Nourished By Time, Parcels, DJ Python, Salem, Sandwell District, Spiritualized, Stereolab, Still House Plants, Sturgill Simpson, Turnstile, Waxahatchee,
Cool: Alan Sparhawk, Beach House, Beatrice Dillon, Been Stellar, Brutalismus 3000, Caribou, Chat Pile, Clairo, Confidence Man, Danny L Harle, Destroyer, Fontaines DC, Frost Children, Glass Beams, Idles, INVT, Isabella Lovestory, Jamie xx, Jane Fitz, John Talabot b2b DJ Dustin, Julie Byrne, Kelly Lee Owens, Mag Bay, Michael Bibi, Sabrina Carpenter, The Dare, TV On The Radio
getting the top three pop stars of the year is crazy

its a prima lineup that also got the three biggest names touring rn outside of Taylor Swift lol

Wow. Must’ve missed Coldplay on the lineup but that’s a huge get for them

stupidly stacked lineup like always and this is before any research
Going from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Tame Impala, The Strokes, Pavement, The National, Charli xcx, Tyler, The Creator, Beck, Jamie xx, Jorja Smith etc. on Mordor in 2022 or Lana Del Rey, SZA, Pulp, The National, Vampire Weekend, Justice, PJ Harvey, Disclosure, Mitski etc. to Sabrina Carpenter, LCD Soundsystem, Charli xcx, Chapell Roan, Jamie xx, HAIM, Paul Kalkbrenner, Beach House, Turnstile, IDLES, Fontaines DC still feels lacking even though I like a lot of the big names. No Nick Cave, Tyler, Bon Iver, NiN..

agreed. 2022 was wild and we got spoiled. 2018 mad cool was my only other fest in another country and that fell flat after that year as well. Really hoping primavera doesn’t fall down that road

But they did secure the trifecta of women headliners and I actually am all for it. The other trifecta for me is Idles, FDC, and turnstile so that helps the the case a bit

And Tyler isn’t doing festivals next year from what I saw today from my friend. Next run of dates to follow these are Tokyo and South America in late 2025. Was hoping he would land here

2022 Prima might be the lineup of the 2020s so far
That was probably my chance to go back but had to get married a week later lol

September 9-11th or something. I also saw Africa and Thailand as well and that looked like August.
