I'm hoping with Mars Volta's billing they are late night tent. It was cool seeing them at Shaky Knees but it still being light out on the main stage wasn't ideal. 90 minute set in a tent would be a much more magical experience.
You made me realize just how much the scheduling and timing for TMV can transform their sets. Saw them at Riot Fest opening for The Cure on the side-to-side main stage setup and it was fantastic but tent would be unreal for them.

It's amazing how much worse this looks with Joey Bada$$ in place of Andre. It was the flute show, but that would have been an excellent thing to vibe to on Sunday afternoon in the main field. Thursday is as good as it has been in years. Best day by far. Saturday is cheeks but Parcels might be the show of the weekend. No idea if this sells well or not. It's gonna come down to who other festivals get.

i guess to be fair i wasn't really that excited about 2023 lineup-wise when it dropped either. kendrick and foos FEEL better than post and peppas, but i'm not super interested in seeing any of them live. don't get me wrong definitely more interested in kendrick and foos but i wasn't foaming at the mouth for those sets or anything. and odesza ended up being my favorite headlining set, strangely.
i just kind of wish there was an act or two here i was genuinely a big fan of besides PL and Isbell. might just be the narrowing of my musical interests, or maybe i'm just very cool and only like cool music.

Announcing Andre's first festival show for this tour and his first solo show (maybe ever?) has a lot more juice than does a Joey BadA$$ booking. The media coverage alone would have put this lineup in a different universe. Joey BadA$$ is terrible live, as well. And y'all realize it's not just Andre playing the flute by himself on stage, yeah? The band for that album is unreal.
so many great undercard acts that were on my wishlist. i think this is the first time i've looked at a lineup and am genuinely excited about 5-6 names per day on the undercard. it goes deep. Thursday fucks so hard. Nation of Language might legit be my favorite band rn and Fred again.. was one of my top artists of 2023 so kicking it off on Thur and closing it on Sun with two beloved artists just shapes up for an awesome weekend.
i've seen all the headliners except Post Malone, so i'll give him a shot. Sat is prob the weakest day for me. looking forward to the WITW lineup cuz i def think this is one of the weaker EDM lineups.
great lineup for me, personally. shoutout to the small indie queer women, all who i somehow have yet to see live <3 (Ethel Cain, Renee Rapp, Chappell Roan, The Japanese House)
