If YOU can book 1 artist per genre. Who would YOU book?
Rock: Spiritualized Rap: Pusha T/Little Simz Country: Sturgill Pop: Caroline Polachek Punk: Amyl & the Sniffers EDM: Romy Funk: Ibibio Sound Machine Metal: Rammstein Jazz/Adjacent: Hiatus Kaiyote Jam: Disco Biscuits (saw them for the first time last Saturday and liked them 10x more than I expected to!)
As for which Roo I wish I could’ve been at, it’s 2019 just because I was 21 and just getting into live music, and so many of my now close friends were there that year and wax poetic about it all the time
Last time I saw Spiritualized I threw up after the show in the parking lot of the Cats Cradle.

What headliner trio would receive the highest approval from Inforoo? I.E., what is the Inforoo Yahtzee?
Paul McCartney - Radiohead - Dolly Parton
?
Widespread Panic x3
been back listening to panic a lot lately and would be thrilled if bonnaroo found a way to fit them in.
still totally obsessed with the transition from Action Man > Chilly Water on Live in the Classic City. feels like a band at the peak of their powers. great vocal performance from JB in that chilly too.
phish has some good -> transitions but nobody drops into a song better than panic. thinking about all the times i've seen them live and they drop into something like Conrad and the entire venue just starts vibrating.
most people don't know this but i actually taught billy strings everything he knows about the guitar. i was like "billy you should really practice that guitar, you'll be a star one day" and he was like "i don't know sir" and i was like "trust me" and he said "alright thanks for believing in me postjack". i'm very proud of him today!

See that's funny because when I saw Billy Strings he told a story about how his uncle taught him everything he knows. So either you are Billy Strings' uncle or one of you is a fucking liar.

there's some great videos of them doing chilly water when they opened for the Stones and all the unsuspecting non-panic fans freaking out about getting splashed with water.
Can't agree more though. Panic segues are fun and I love watching Schools leading the charge. I got pretty spoiled at the show in May. They played a new song (riff really similar to optimistic by Radiohead) King Baby > Chilly water and it was a great drop. Then we got a nice long Diner that ended with JoJo doing a piano shuffle solo before they rip the floor out and bust into Conrad.

Well both of you are lying because I’m Billy Strings dad and I taught him everything he knows.

it's possible billy is just mistaken, he might not be remembering right. but i was like "you just gotta work hard billy". i'm not gunna make a big deal out of it, i'm just happy he is doing so well.
I had the pleasure of seeing him play in this restaurant in the UP back in like what, 2012? So proud of how far he's come.
Dang that’s bad ass
UPDATE: It was actually in 2015. I've been to the UP so many times I lost track. Looking at his discography on Wikipedia though, that somehow tracks. I was 15 at the time though so I didn't fully appreciate it when he was playing. I thought the music was good, he was playing while we were eating. But of my dad, who totally digs that kind of music, wanted to stay after and watch him so I really just sat outside after dinner and doodled. I swear Dad picked up one of his CDs too but Wikipedia says that his first EP came out in 2016 so I have no idea now, I'm gonna have to look and see tomorrow.

I’ve listened to Clairo’s new album a bunch since it came out last week. It’s really freaking good. I only knew Flaming Hot Cheetos before that. Once I found out it was produced by Leon Michels I became super interested cause I’m a huge fan of all his projects. Roo should book Clairo and El Michels Affair next year because it would make me very happy.

I really enjoyed Clairo's late night set in 2019. I was feeling good myself, but it was a nice vibe. And she's consistently good on record so I support a return for sure.

I missed her set in 2019 but would gladly correct that mistake if she returns.
