i’m so fuckin pumped for this fest. can’t believe how stacked it is and the fact i got a pass for $150 feels like stealing lmaooo
gonna be a great way to kick off the -ember holiday season
This definitely brought my spirits up. There hasn't been a Three Lobed party post pandemic and anyone that knows me also knows how big of a deal it is to me personally. One of the few labels I keep a subscription going year after year.
Also, Eli fucking slaps. Fingers crossed we get a Gunn-Truscinski Duo w/ Bill Nace set.
Curious to see what that Psychic Hotline showcase will be, too.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

this is the playlist I’ve been jammin to recently. they’ve done ten songs for the larger artists (looks like based on recent setlist.fm stats) and then five songs each for the undercard acts
Cro-Mags? That's a band I haven't seen since the 1980's. Glad they censored the rebel cap seeing as they are from NY anyway. I miss that level of crowd engagement sometimes.

It's pretty much just Harley these days with a rotating cast of musicians. I was concerned about which iteration we were getting as Harly has one version and Joseph and Jayson have another. Apparently the lawsuit made them formally change to Cro-Mags JM with Harley retaining the original name.
Randomly, at Northside Festival in Brooklyn a few years ago, I ended up singing a bunch of Cro Mags at a punk/metal karaoke at some bar in Greenepoint.
yes, this is the Thursday day party at Slims. Looks like each band has 30 minutes at most and that’s not even counting change over time if they don’t have two stages, but it’s a nice little lineup

Oh they're playing the fest proper, too. It's one of those bands that are playing both.
Slims is super small. I'm trying to remember the outdoor stage but the inside is just what the name suggests. I was hovering over Merzbow there watching Pig Destroyer once.
I completely have skipped over both Florry and Fust on the line-up. You should check out Sluice, too. It's along the same lines but more ambient. Justin plays in Fust as well.
How is Uber/Lyft in Raleigh nowadays? I usually stay close and walk but that wasn't an option this year and sleeping a little out of Downtown.
i’ve never had an issue getting one. you should be good!
I figured. I always ask though. When gas started creeping up, I feel like people decided it wasn't as cost efficient and stopped driving. Like Knoxville is rough these days when I go but I don't get nearly as fucked up and drive downtown.

Hopscotch is a different monster though.
Probably not relevant for Hopscotch but I’ve had to wait like an hour after the show both times I’ve been to that arena in Raleigh.

dang i think the most i’ve had to wait is like, 15 minutes. but yeah, i have no idea what it’ll be like for hopscotch weekend since this is my first one. garageland, it should be fine getting downtown to the fest; getting back to where you’re staying at the end of the night may be different
