dragonchild x Sunken Cages is scheduled for Friday on the site but confusingly have no venue and a timeslot of 1:42 AM... hope they're not getting dropped, the live video on their page looks sick
On the bright side, appears Tyondai Braxton is back on the site when looking at Thursday and does have a scheduled time

I think the main reason I like inforoo and don't really mess with other social platforms on the internet is because each thread is like a different friend group. Then there's some overlap between friend groups when you see the same folks in multiple threads. This has nothing to do with Big Ears, but it would be nice if 3post1jack1 checked in on this one with a bit every now and then.

Good eye on Tyondai, updated on the master schedule. Still missing set info for dragonchild, Eli Winter, Min Xiao-Fen, and Davone Tines.

“Big Ears 2025: Phish performs The Shape of Jazz To Come in full. Anastasio/Iyler/Taborn Trio. Mike Gordon “THE HYMNS OF APPALACHIA” banjo set. The return of Vida Blue and Fishman makes big ass puppets for a parade.”

Hahaha, this is great. Who would be the equivalent to Drake for Big Ears? Is the gist that it would be a huge artist that might make sense but we all think would be terrible? I don't think I know enough about these genre(s) to have that sort of opinion. Maybe we could just make it positive and say Philip Glass or something.

You could make a case that Herbie is the most commercial top name they’ve had since Wilco a few years back. I’ve seen him a ton though and doubt I’ll try again unless there’s nothing going on that I’m dying for.
BE does a really good job curating, imo. There’s nothing I’d roll my eyes at because I know there’s like 10 other things going on at the same time. They could book Kenny G and I’d be over here hoping for an Imperial Triumphant spot on the lineup.

Well this looks joyful. 11 AM Knoxville Museum of Art. They've also added Kenny Wollesen's Walle-Sonic Massage which looks like a hoot. No venue/time for that yet and still nothing for time/venue for JPJ and Thurston

A *ton* of changes today, schedule updated to reflect where things are now on what is hopefully the night before the official schedule. A lot of shakeups especially at smaller venues. Most noteworthy: Thurston/JPJ is 5:45 at Mill & Mine, the two Just Charles sets have been bumped to before other sets start (5 PM Thursday, 10 AM Saturday). Two Jakob Bro sets at Regas Square back-to-back like a jazz club. Threadgill's Air moved so it's no longer conflicting with the trio. Davone Tines takes that first Tennessee slot on Sunday. Lots to look at, only act I know of still missing a schedule slot is Eli Winter Trio. A lot to ponder and rethink--the only constant is change!

The more I think about it, I can’t imagine Eli being anywhere else but the Jig & Reel. I’m betting he’ll show up there after Allred on Sunday. That day is just gonna suck. I’ve accepted the fact that I may miss him and already making plans to see him in DC if that happens.
Again, thanks for keeping us updated. You’re doing God’s work here.

Steve Keene Live Art Performance added, no schedule info yet. I feel like my last remaining questions in the (minutes? hours?) are on a couple of set lengths--how long will some of the "marquee" Knoxville Civic sets be? (Laurie and Kronos--90 minutes? 2 hours?) And just how long will Just Charles be? With a 10 AM set I'm all-in, but given the source material and how the venue is currently schedule it's believable that it could be as long as 2.5-3 hours

Eli Winter all set--1 PM Friday and 2:30 Saturday at Jig and Reel (called it, garageland). No film times yet, although they added a Super Secret Sneak Preview that's TBA. On the launchpad, may get the real thing as soon as tomorrow.

I’m really excited about Steve Keene being here. I bought 3 pieces of his at a CMJ showcase in 1995 and they still hang in my home. I went for his Presidents series over the album covers. The late adds have been great.
