Does Bieniemy think that this is more likely to propel him to a HC position or something? I can't really fathom leaving KC for Washington.
He interviewed over 20 times the last few years and nobody pulled the trigger which is weird af for a top offensive coach. Youve seen how all it takes is a season or 2 at most for a team to get good on offense and then the respective coordinator and staff gets hired elsewhere. There was a run on McVay's coaching staff cause of it. Philly with Pederson and Philly with Sirianni. Meanwhile the Chiefs win 2 super bowls and have been in the afc title game all these years in a row and the staff doesnt get poached at all. Reid even directly asked the nfl braintrust what the reason was as to why Bieniemy couldnt get a job. No straight answer and the stuff from Colorado does not pass the sniff test anymore cause the league let Watson back in.
Would be hilarious if Bienemy was the secret sauce in KC all along and Mahomes is just average as hell
If Josh Allen has a down year next season then its pretty clear Dabbol was his secret sauce. I think Mahomes will be fine. He has had enough years with the same staff and system now that he has figured a lot out. I think for a really good young qb to be on the right path you need at least 3 years of the same oc and head coach to figure out all your shit.

there are 2 QBs with a losing record in the hall (Fouts, Namath), but both guys built resumes on big stats or big wins.

think he would absolutely need an MVP level season to get in, but there are a number of QBs w MVPs who haven't made the HOF (how is Joe theisman not in the hall?)
but it is a media award and if the jets won/make a SB with him that might be enough if he can amass like 50k yds and 300 tds which could happen in like 3 to 5 seasons.

I don't think you can make numbers cases much anymore except to rank guys in the era. Has Derek Carr even had one season as a Top 10 QB? I know the Raiders were 30th in EPA on defense and special teams during Carr's time, so that's certainly helpful.
With the other QBs of his era I don't really think he will, but my heart needs to see Philip Rivers in the Hall. Won nothing and was never the obvious best in the league, but he was elite and consistent for a very long time. Having to compete against guys like Brady, the Mannings, Brees, Rodgers, Big Ben will probably leave him out.
Looking at the stats Rivers really falls into more of the Stafford / Ryan tier though, and he has no ring or MVP. With another 8-10 years in the league, Carr will probably be on these guys level.

he looked like an absolute fucking badass and led something like 8 game winning drives with under two minutes. They were also 12-2 before he got hurt, it really was an excellent season, easily the best we've had since the Rich Gannon days
