I'm sure we can work out a trade. I'm willing to send you the Boston edition of Re:SET in exchange for a year's worth of King Gizzard, Goose, and My Morning Jacket metro Denver shows.
This is a lop-sided trade...
Judging from your avatar, I suspect I know which side you think is getting the better deal.
formerly a member of the Internet, had a #1 hit last year with this song.
I can't express how much I hate this fucking song
Judging from this song, and only this song, it's like he took his whole aesthetic from Shuggie Otis and the Brothers Johnson. I'd bet money that he covers Strawberry Letter #23 constantly. Which isn't a bad thing, imho, at all.

I really wish shows like this were more common. The Warped / Lolla type touring festivals are so awesome. We should do a draft in that format.
There were so many of these in the 90's, although they were more like modern fixed location festivals in the sense that they were one or two days jam-packed with a lot of acts, and there were usually multiple stages and overlap. Even at amphitheaters with reserved seating, there'd be a smaller second stage somewhere on the grounds or in the parking lot.
The genius thing about this is that by adopting the model used by some international festivals, with identical lineups switching locations, the artists can do three reasonably close shows for a single promoter in one weekend (and then enjoy a few days off between dates each week), while fans get an experience that "breathes" more than the usual festival. No running across the grounds to get to the next stage, no hard choices between conflicts, no partial sets due to "three songs at one stage, followed by a walk across the grounds including a porta-potty stop, followed by someone else's last three songs." We all know that feeling when you look at the poster and get excited about everyone you're going to see, and then the schedule drops and you've got to cross 40% of the artists off of your list because you can't be in two places at once.
I checked out one of her songs on YouTube which had such an odd time-signature, one which would have even sounded strange in prog rock or jazz. On a quantum level, it shouldn't exist, but it does and that's so interesting.

Can't speak to the quality of his live performances but the most recent Steve Lacy album had several pretty solid tunes I liked much better than Bad Habit. This is a jam for example
On the selling out point...the location here is where Voodoo festival iswas . The attendance is usually around 150,000-180,000 throughout the three days. So what is that like 60,000?

I agree it would be nice to not have conflicts but I do like being able to bail on a set if you're not feeling it and go catch something else. Also if you're not into one of the acts and it's in the middle of the bill, you have to wait through the breaks before and after that act (unless they're doing a rotating stage, which seems unlikely), plus that act's full set, before you see one you're interested in. That's a lot of down time. Also, because there's only one stage, it seems like everyone will get food and drink, and go to the bathroom, when an act finishes, making for long lines.

Correct...as much as I enjoy LCD, Toro Y Moi, and a few others on that lineup, it ain't worth a weekend supply of 3 of the best touring acts today let alone a year supply!
That's like trading a year supply of Doritos (whichever flavor you fancy) for one bag of Southwest cardboard pretzels...
Especially when those are expedited festival sets.
Weird to think about what the weather will be like so far ahead but I'm excited to see the venue so I'd be pretty happy with any weather that isn't raining so hard the show has to cancel
Still debating between LCD and boygenius days. I doubt I can afford both.
so i'm a massive LCD fan so that would be my choice, but what do we think is the future of a supergroup like boygenius? will they keep doing shows forever or is it more of a temporary thing? honestly asking i don't know a ton about them. if it's a temporary thing and you love both boygenius and LCD equally than boygenius makes more sense.

For whatever it's worth, you'll probably have many more shots to see LCD Soundsystem given you're an NYC resident, whereas boygenius hasn't been around since 2018.

In for all three days at Columbus. Rust Belt Inforoo rise up! Really looking forward to this and grateful that it came close enough to home on a weekend I could do, especially after not being able to do Coachella or the recent Philly LCD resident due to work or other obligations.
