The Beths are ok but there has been a lot of talk and one person even saying their campground set will be talked about "for years to come" when they are just a normal, perfectly fine indie rock band. There is nothing special about them. I would argue that they are below Peach Pit in terms of good indie rock this year.

The Beths sound like Courtney Barnett before Kurt Vile corrupted her sound. Future Me Hates Me is one of the better boilerplate indie rock albums released in October 2018

I think that PP is actually exactly what you described: a perfectly fine little band, and The Beths are much more dynamic and interesting.
But of course the Beths have a female front woman and we know how you DONT like that!
