Hotels in the city will likely be expensive between the Festival and it still being tourist season, so airbnb would be the cheaper option for sure.

We went hotel route last year and had we not split it, it probably was out of our ball park. Airbnb but don't let the hostels scare you off either. Especially if you're trying to stay in the Loop. The L is the easiest thing ever to use. Don't be afraid to stay a little further out if the price is better.

I feel you. This year's smash lineup feels so top heavy tho that I genuinely dont think it's worth it at $300+ per ticket. Headliners and special guests are top notch but the undercard (especially the top lines) seem uninspired to me.
I rly wish theyd sell 1-day passes though because Id def go that Sunday just for Carti and Lucki.

There's a Hi Hostel that I stayed at years ago that I really liked. It's in the loop and $85 a night on Booking. Obviously it's a shared dormitory but if you're doing it right, you won't see it that much.
Also, Southwest flys direct from RVA to Midway for cheap.
