Here’s the list. Most of it is more festival style than what you would order at a restaurant, because a lot of the delicacies are made by private caterers. I also had a bowl of chicken and tasso over white rice. Was very good but needed more tasso. Browell also hit Ajun Cajun and got some shrimp yakisoba and some type of salad. Scroll through, and if you like more than a couple things, it’s probably worth a day or two at the festival just for that.
Is Skyline Chili wrestling a thing? I can bring the kiddy pool to brunch if Capital Cincy can bring enough chili. Can't be worse than you sick fucks playing in that horse shit and piss mud.

This is one of the million reasons I love you. You SEE me. <3
Overall review of this year's JF?? Reviews from some of my friends were pretty positive. Sounds like the worst thing about this year's edition is the lineup poster design lol

Honestly, my biggest issue was with the layout changes. I have been going for decades and felt lost a few times, not for the stages, which were in the same spots mostly, but for the little things...like food vendors. Then the next worst was the lines for food. I am not sure if they got better as the fest went on, but on that first Friday it was a hot mess. I didn't even get my mango freeze because all the lines were at least 30 min waits. They are never that long.
OH and I forgot to mention I did end up in the medic tent. I accidently sprayed sunscreen right in my eyeball. I was fine for about a half hour, but the sun/sweat/heat just made it worse. They were super efficient, rinsed out my eye, filled up my water bottle and got me back on my way.

Lines weren't bad on Saturday at all. We had to wait to get in, but once they started letting people in, it was only about 10 minutes until we got through. Best play on any busy Saturday is to grab food early. So we did that with no lines. Second round had some lines (5-20 long), but it didn't take very long to order or anything. Bathrooms only had lines for people who wouldn't walk to other bathroom areas. No issues if you know where to go. The bar was a little hit at 6:15, but even that only took a few minutes to get through. Based on all I was reading about the early problems with them going cashless, I didn't notice any specifically longer line situations than what you'd see anyway.

That is great. They must have fixed the issue. I tried to go to the merch store in the craft area to get a bandana (during the sunscreen eyeball incident) and they didn't have a working credit machine due to whatever the cashless issue was the first Friday. I was fucking PISSED. It's why I ended up in the medic tent.
I really wanted that purple JazzyFest bandana too.
My people's food! <3 <3 <3 I know it's hard to tell, but it is true.
I always figured you were Italian.
Yup. My mom's father was first born American Italian, my great grandmother was pregnant with him on the boat here and my grandmother was born in San Juan and they moved to New York when she was young. So West Side Story except the families didn't hate each other. LOL My dad's side is very white. Irish English.
Locals: we'll be doing our second line on Friday if anyone would like to come join! 6:40 departure from Pharmacy Museum...gonna up Chartres to St Peters, then down on Royal to Conti before wrapping around the courthouse back on Chartres. If you come, please say hi to me...I'll be the goofy tall dude in the cream tux lol

Edit: Don't know why this didn't embed, jazzfest is 8 days in 2024.
I wonder if they are going to try to do the Rolling Stone's Thursday thing again (since it didn't happen 2022) for the new album/tour that is bond to happen.
I haven’t been able to find a 2024 thread but there will be news tomorrow according to the Jazzfest Instagram! Rolling Stones?? infinitypass anything juicy to share?
