^^ Getting Bruce back IP? We know we'll have Trombone Shorty and Orleans Ave. closing out the main stage on the second Sunday. Dead and Company? Should I be excited?
Oh forgot the mention I'm getting married in New Orleans the Friday after W2, so this is entirely on the radar. The fiancé and I are getting in the Monday but I would love this lineup to draw us there a few days earlier.
PS anyone in town who wants to join our second line is more than welcomed lol

You have to give us more deets than a second line the Friday after JazzFest W2, if you really want us to crash.

I literally worked down the street and parked in the parking garage directly across the street for over 6 years. Can't wait to see you!
Edit: one of my girl's got married there and it was stunningly beautiful, you picked a good location.
My fiancé has dreamed of tying the knot there since way back in our Tulane days...I was just relieved to get a spring date!
If any of you Inforooers actually do show up for the second line, you'd be promoted to temporary top-tier guests of honor, grandmothers and groomsmen be damned!

As of now I'd bet heavily on them being there...booked for each of the canceled 2020 & 2021 editions and would be just a few weeks before their final tour starts (which coincidentally skips New Orleans + Houston/Memphis-type markets)
Unrelated to Jazz Fest here but curious if any of you ever do French Quarter Fest (mid-Apr 23)? We’re going to be there the Fri evening of the fest and flying out late Sunday. Just wondering if anyone has any tips for how to best experience that or if it’s really just as easy as walking around the quarter from stage to stage.

Always do FQF. It's as easy as walking from stage to stage.
It's throughout the French Quarter. There's some really cool places that have courtyards where the shows are.

FQF is a breeze. Its busy but never crazy. Grab yourself an XL daq from Fat Tuesdays and just bum around. I'd recommend exiting the quarter towards Frenchmen since it'll be less crowded than all the tourists heading towards Canal. Have a blast!

It’s a good eating festival with the music just being a bonus. Meaning all the music is great but the food vendors in Jackson square are different from the ones by the waterfront so I don’t stress trying to see certain bands but rather search out my favorite foods. Whatever you stumble upon will be fun.

Will you be stumbling around? Meet ups and drinks/eats are always an option!

Same. Food vendors are different on the river, in Jackson Square, river parking lot and at Esplanade in the Shade, and that's more my roadmap to what I do unless there is something I gotta see music wise - say Astral Project - which usually isn't the case since I've seen most everyone major that ever plays it. I mostly quit going on the weekends, because if the weather is nice, crowd sizes can get up there in the mid-6 figures. These days I generally go on Thursday and Friday to grab some lunch.
You'll have fun though lcpreds. It's a good time if maybe a little overwhelming because of how spread out it is over the FQ and Riverfront. I think last year they had like 15 stages including a couple of participating bars (house of blues) and one in front of the casino. A couple stages are just on street corners as well.

This works out perfectly for us to be honest. We like to hit nola for a weekend once per year and do a lot of walking. If this means our walking will have us passing some live music along the way then it sounds like it will be an excellent weekend.
Really appreciate all of the feedback and apologies for the brief pivot from Jazz Fest.
I’ll be at both nights. zac you coming down? Only costs gas, alcohol and tickets.
Dude this looks like so much fun! Unfortunately one of my best friends and old roommate is getting married that weekend. She lives out in Denver so we will already be in Denver that week/weekend :/

Y'all flying? If you're driving, Jazz Fest is 2 weekends (not repeated acts). Ms. IP says jam at the fest which I'm taking to mean pre-tour Dead & Company or possibly WSMFP since they play every 3 years or so anyway - maybe both? A Phish return would also rule, but I don't see that happening this year - but probably at least some of them will be in town playing sit-ins and shit.

We are flying out, but we’ve always wanted to do Jazz Fest and visit New Orleans. I’ve been once and Lindsey’s never been. I’ll def have to look into flights and travel options.
