I'm at a 2. My wife very much did not enjoy being alone with the baby for a week while I was at Roo this year, even with her parents' help, and the fact that she then had to spend another 10 days shouldering most of the burden when I brought back COVID only compounded all of that, so I don't know that she'll give me that leeway, again. I think that, as soon as the two of us can go and leave our daughter with relatives while we're gone, we'll most likely come back (assuming a lineup we like), but that's going to be a good couple of years from now at the absolute least.
Then again, a year is a long time, and a lot can change, so I'd never say never.
i was a 3 in 2022, went to a 7 this year after seeing how much fun all y'all had. i still need the lineup to give me something i can latch on to, like 2 decent headliners and a handful of undercard acts.
I’d like to make the trip but it’s too far out for me to know, too many things need to fall into place for it to happen. I committed to Coachella 2023 and I’d like to do some other traveling next year so it’s a big maybe for me.
Upcoming Shows: 10/13 - Mike Birbiglia @ Taft Theatre 10/29 - The Lone Bellow @ Memorial Hall 11/6 - Yes @ Taft Theatre 3/9 - Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band @ Nationwide Arena 4/25 - Ben Folds w/ the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra @ Cincinnati Music Hall
I will most likely be returning. We pair Roo with a trip to Kentucky to see my family and then my parents watch my kid while I'm at Roo, so it would be crazy for me not to continue to take advantage of that. I'm a 9... And the only reason I didnt select a 10 is because there's a part of me that really wants to go to Electric Forest.
The lineup this year was definitely pretty mid but logistically it worked out, the wife wanted to go which upped my enthusiasm a bit, and a couple years without any shows really pushed the FOMO. Had a great time all weekend, saw some great shows. I think the smaller crowds (and VIP) went a long way in improving my overall enjoyment because of how easy it was to get around centeroo and get good spots for the shows I wanted to. Where in the Woods was a great addition and saw some fun shows there.
However, it's probably gonna be dependent on the lineup and potential other travel plans next summer. If there's a couple hard to catch or really solid acts I like (e.g., last sons of kemet tour, herbie hancock) then I could see it happening.
i thought we'd have more enthusiasm from early responses. interesting.
I think the bass-ackwards logistical they made, the intense heat, and the lackluster lineup has cooled some of the die-hards.
I said 5, but I think I’m bein’ optimistic. In addition to the above, my wife and I have some hopefully big things in the pipeline over the next 6-12 months. So if the lineup looks AMAZEBALLS, we will definitely try to make it. But if it’s like this year, no FOMO!
After 8 Bonnaroos in a row I'm lineup dependent. If it's another lineup like this year I'll probably figure something else out. I had some of the most fun I've ever had at Bonnaroo this year. But it does feel like I checked all the boxes. Just give me a competent lineup (not an embarrassing top line like we just had) and a few acts to really be excited for and I'm in.
