Damn, Pond was one of my most anticipated. It has been since Roo 2018 since I last saw them and was really looking forward to whatever newer songs they would’ve played. Also was really looking forward to the trippy day that would’ve been Pond > The Black Angels > The Flaming Lips.

I've been begging Tim for Microwave every year in the post fest survey. Their tour just ended but they also just played a sold out Masquerade Heaven show. Mattiel or Danger Inc. would be good. Algiers would be a dream replacement but their Europe tour starts next week so prob not. They're prob just gonna shift the two playing before that down though and move ana kramer over to open that stage.
Damn really wanted to see Pond. The Ries Brothers in for them according to the schedule on the SK website.
Weren’t they already a replacement for an even lower billed act? Ponce is now empty until 2pm. Feels like a definite lineup downgrade but when this stuff happens so late I don’t know what they can really do. One would like to think they knew of these potential visa issues weeks ago and would have tried to have a backup in place.
This really blows for the late night show crowd though.
Am actually going this year, partly because of that sunday lineup (Pond being a big factor there). Very bummed, but what're you going to do. Been fortunate enough to have seen them twice already at least.
SK absolutely should have a backup for this though given how much last minute cancellations have been a thing for the past 1-2 years. If they don't, I'll be pretty surprised and a little upset given how much they've been raising prices.
What did you think of 311 when you saw them previously? I watched some portion of a recent show on Youtube and it felt like a complete mail in. Might end up at the set regardless since I do plan to do Gaslight and TMV.
They were fine. Didn’t have a great view and hoping for a better experience this time. Also, been unable to get into The Front Bottoms, and want to get set up early for the Volta.
For those in/familiar with Atlanta: if I’m staying at the Hotel Indigo downtown, would you suggest making the 10-15 minute walk back by myself after the fest, or am I better off grabbing an Uber?

the walk is fine. Might be a bit hilly but it shouldn’t be dangerous especially since a ton of people will be walking to the Hotel District

My wife was on a knee scooter due to a broken ankle last year and we were staying at Hyatt Regency downtown. I can confirm that there are indeed hills on the return. Feels more like a mountain climb when you start treating a knee scooter as a wheelchair.
