*J Cole sucks *Hell yeah Stevie Nicks *1984 is one of the 3 or 4 best years in music, that's gonna be a killer Superjam *Tame Impala's tour dates have a giant gap between June 11 and August 25 and they didn't rebook them?
is it the music of the year 1984 or covering van halen's 1984? cool either way but i read into it as a van halen tribute. guess we don't have a definitive answer right now
I would like either, but I’m really hoping for the music of ‘84. So many good ones from that year!
Oh yeah. Big Ears and Riot Fest are still very much on the table. I bought my Riot Fest ticket like two fucking years ago, so I almost have to go now on principle regardless of the lineup.
So you are going with the Riot Fest/Chicago crew? thejeremy can easily be talked into Rioting... Just saying. Plus, Chuck asked me to be his buyer, which means I'm officially a baller. So hopefully the lineup lines up.
We haven't gotten that far yet. She has some friends in Chicago too. I honestly kind of forgot I had the ticket for a while since I bought it so long ago. 😄
I see a lot of shittin on JCole, do y’all just don’t like his music or does he suck live or both?
I like most of the Dreamville stuff so I would have his set near the top of my list.
J. Cole is a gifted rapper and lyricist with very little charisma and no identifiable signature sound. I do like some of his stuff but he's never done anything that gets me excited about him.
He's okay live. One that you'd probably really enjoy if you're a fan but wouldn't have a terribly hard time ignoring if you weren't.

I have a bunch of his songs on my skate playlists. I won't be on skates, my excitement level is much lower because of that.

I just want to point out that ever since ya’ll started saying Lizzo wasn’t a headliner, the lineups have gotten worse and worse. This is your fault infoRoo. The Lizzo curse is upon us and ya’ll have blood on your hands.
thursday: blu detiger > kenny mason > the weather station > ? > the brook and the bluff (maybe vnssa) > clozee > gryffin > sons of kemet
friday: dayglow > tai/lord huron > bleacher > plant and krauss > start of TWOD > isaiah rashad > japanese brekkie > goose > j.cole > that LN is a clusterfuck of conflicts for me and i simply cannot decide
saturday: cory henry > mt. joy > chvrches > moore kismet > billy strings > flume > tool (maybe see 21 for a bit) > partials for chris lake/100 gecs/porter robinson > marc rebillet for a bit > PPPP
sunday: flipturn > coin > bas > wallows > tierra whack > herbie > tash sultana/rezz (i cant decide on this one either) > stevie

I am not going to this, but I'll use this as a chance to maybe find some new music. These are the artists that I like on this bill
Sons of Kemet, Nothing, Kenny Mason, Disclosure, Isaiah Rashad, Lane 8, Denzel Curry, Japanese Breakfast, Arlo Parks, The Regrettes, Claud, Tool, Flume, Chris Lake, Gecs, Slowthai, The Backseat Lovers, Herbie Hancock, Puscifer, Tierra Whack

Since he's headlining I could see a bunch of the Dreamville crew showup and that would be fun. but idk. You're right in that he doesn't come across as a hyped entertainer type.

when i saw him at Jazz Fest in 2016, he brought Bas out so id assume that will certainly happen in addition to bringing 21 Savage out considering he has songs with each of them from the new album

I was excited. We called our group Camp Juice. I bought a red sequined dress. Don't land this on me.

Despite being a very disappointing lineup, for some reason this is the year my group is hyped to return to the farm. So looks like I may be going! I've been diving into a lot of the electronic acts tonight and I'm finding some great tunes. I like a lot of Porter Robinson, Lane 8 and Flume stuff. Also not edm, but Still Woozy has been a fun find.

Going to Primavera, but I feel like this would be a fun weekend if I were to attend. It misses some of the star factor of the 2020/2021 lineups, but for my taste, the electronic and hip-hop names may be stronger and there's enough good undercard picks to make it a good time.
A few undercard picks I'd recommend not sleeping on: Indigo De Souza, Sons of Kemet, Nothing, The Weather Station, Tinashe, Femi Kuti, Joy Oladokun, Arlo Parks, Claud (and of course Japanese Breakfast too)
Haha. I’m more contemplative over the lineup mostly because I’ve got 2 festivals between now and Bonnaroo. Better Top would be more exciting, I liked the manila mock better. But I’ll catch Liquid Stranger at Buku and Disco Biscuits both nights during Jazz Fest. Speaking of Buku, looks like 10 or so crossovers this year so I can potentially insure against at least a few possible conflicts at Bonnaroo. I’ll look at all that harder down the road to see if I might need to prioritize getting a piece of anything there so I won’t necessarily need to get the repeat 3 months later. More jam would also have been appreciated, but Jazz Fest will take care of some of that. So yeah. I’m not blown-away-excited by this lineup, but I’ll get to work in shit from a lot of genres that I’ll want to see this year.

Bing Mock
Thurs: Kenny Mason > Indigo De Souza > Blu DeTiger > Nothing > Vnssa > Weval > The Weather Station > Bit of Gryffin > Sons of Kemet
Friday: Denzel Curry > Arlo Parks > J Worra > Goose > Lane 8 > J Cole > Disclosure > King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard > Tove Lo
Saturday: Cory Henry > Slowthai > Ludacris > Billy Strings > Suicide Boys > Flume > CHVCHES > Tool > Superjam / Porter Robinson > 100 Gecs (Marc Rebillet got booted from the lineup here)
Sunday: Zach Bryan > All Them Witches > Tierra Whack > Herbie Hancock > Tinashe > Lettuce > Stevie Nicks
Slowthai / Femi Kuti and Denzel / Japanese Breakfast felt unnecessary so probably accurate. This seems like best case scenario. Best Thursday ever. Good Friday. Great Saturday, and honestly that Sunday run doesn't look atrocious to me.

Hmmmmmm this new Chvrches album is a lot better than their previous effort. I really liked their first two albums a lot but that third one was a stinker. I never gave this one a shot, it’s better than I expected.

we had to stand through his miserable set in 2016 while in the pit line for LCD. He’d be a hard pass for me.

Not really sure what genre to throw her in (some kind of pop/dance/rap combo), but I enjoyed Noga Erez' set at Outside Lands. She's an Israeli-born singer and producer. Haven't seen her mentioned anywhere on here, but to paraphrase Karl Havoc, "I thought she was interesting".
4 or 5 songs in and I still have no idea if Puscifer is good or not
When they played Bonnaroo ten years ago they were dressed like the crew of a commercial airline flight and threw bags of Puscifer brand peanuts into the crowd
Why do you need to know if they're good or not
And for their tour in maybe 2013 / /2014 they had Lucha Libre wresting as the opener with a full wrestling ring. Then when Puscifer played, Maynard and Carina sang from the wrestling ring. They also stopped mid concert and the wrestlers would slam each other for a few minutes.
