The Coens have a few misses (Hardsucker Proxy, Intolerable Cruelty, Ladykillers, Hail Ceasar) but even their misses aren't necessarily bad compared to others directors clunkers. And they have so many great films, the few not so great ones don't bother me.
Hardsucker Proxy? Is that from the same guys that made Logjammin'?
I think Hudsucker Proxy is fine. It's their riff on Capra era Americana. Maybe a little slow but it's not a miss.
"He fixes the cable???"
It's not bad by any means, just grading on a curve with the rest of their films, I'd probably put it near the bottom 5 or so. But again, we're talking about the awesomeness of the Coens, so even their "misses" aren't necessarily bad movies.
I enjoyed it as well. Never got the hate. And they were bound to dip at some point after the best run in their filmography with No Country, Burn After Reading, A Serious Man, True Grit, and Llewyn Davis.

PTA vs Coens is There Will Be Blood vs No Country For Old Men part 2?
I'm probably in the minority here, but I would take There Will Be Blood over any Coen Brothers movie (and I really like the Coen Brothers). I think it's one of the greatest films ever made. I'm still surprised it lost that year, but you win some, you lose some.

haven't seen burn or grit
The final two minutes of Burn After Reading are some of the funniest stuff the Coens have ever written. Also one of Brad Pitt's best performances in my opinion.

FINAL FOUR
Steven Spielberg vs Coen Brothers Quentin Tarantino vs Stanley Kubrick
I know some people were missed and seeding wasn't perfect but at the end of the day we got 4 pretty great options. Probably 3 of my 4 personal favorites made it. A little surprised Scorsese didn't make the final four but competition was tough in that bracket.
No denying that Spielberg has made some of the best films and most important films regarding film history, but there is also no denying that since 2000 every other film he's made is mediocre or not good at all.
I find it fitting that Tarantino is the one who squares off against Kubrick in the final four. Both have an unmistakable, easily recognizable style and rather small filmographies without any stinkers. I have to go with Kubrick just because he is Kubrick and the GOAT, but I really do love Tarantino, even if some of his films are aging poorly in today's political climate.
