or just something simple like "Who booked the strongest Infinity Festival" so that months of work doesn't come down to solely objective taste or having a top 5 pick. i didn't even finish my schedule so i can't be that mad, but the fact that KPO got booted is just wild to me. no we shouldn't vote solely on "who tried the hardest", but it's very discouraging to put it in that extra effort, get voted out immediately, and then hit with sarcasm about it. especially coming from the guy we always show immense appreciation for when it comes to the effort put into these games.
wow Fred got first in the initial round, I just saw.
it is a very nice lineup, don't get me wrong, but it is potentially the Least Infinity of the entire bunch... this isn't to knock on Fred, but I just sorta wish more people took that into account when voting for, well, the Infinity Draft
I responded Juggs regarding this as well, but this comment is not fair at all, especially given we don’t have a set definition of what Infinity is.

yeah, but it's hard. like i thought i put effort in, in that i made a conscious effort to take some more off-kilter names that didn't (at least based upon my searches of the various other draft threads) show up that often, and i got bounced. bottom line is, other people don't necessarily enjoy the same acts I do. this is the first draft where I just said "eh, who do I actually like" as opposed to taking "who will get votes" based into consideration, and it's the first draft I haven't placed top-two

This is actually why I liked Fred's last Coachella draft - each round had a set goal: ticket sales, diverse lineup, etc., with the final round just being "which of these is the best". It provided some guidance for voters so it wasn't just "who has the most bands you like"
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

i didnt say you don't deserve votes. i like your lineup a lot. just find it surprising the very first spot went to someone with fewer Infinity acts than most, that's all. doesnt mean you dont deserve to be in this round or anything like that

Totally forgot to vote in round 1. Might vote this round.
case in point
Sorry I got busy. Also doesn't help that this thread is in a subforum of a subforum that I rarely go to. The competition aspect of this is also not really the fun part of these drafts for me.

I think people do value cohesion and effort a lot. If you count mine as having a theme, which is sorta does, the top 4 finishers all had themes of some type. I'm not sure if you can really say that some people gave more effort than others fairly (excluding Jortles) because there's a lot of stuff you don't see that doesn't make it to the final cut (i.e. trades that fell through, rejected poster designs, how long a schedule took, etc).
Yeah, tbh i'm saltier about this than I should be. I put like 7 hours straight into making that thing. Like I had fun doing this draft but it still really sucks (no pun intended). Feel bad for Pepe too because people literally called his video one of the greatest posts in inforoo history and he had a good, well curated lineup

it sucks but at the end of the day there's only one thing the draft is really about: the podcast

I would've been on the fence about voting for you had I remembered to vote in round 1. Your concept was funny and well executed but I didn't find the lineup interesting or even really think it made a ton of sense with the "sexy" theme. At the end of the day people are probably voting on lineups. It isn't an effort contest.

as to this point, I mean you came first so obviously people like it. My thing with infinity is that it's a wild fantasy game where you can go Hendrix into Gizz or have Lizzo open for Queen. Stuff that never has happened or will happen. I think you did a really good job of curating but I just prefer to see the fantasy aspect show up more.

all fair points, i just think people get weirdly selective when voting hits
what's going on w the blackouts on Fred's poster, has a SJ listed but it's blacked out. guessing you don't have Eno and tried to pull a fast one on us poor saps

I find Recently Updated Threads to be a much better way to navigate Inforoo than looking through the forums.

oh, I have Nico Jaar on those blackouts, but it turned out I couldn't pick AEAEA, so had to replace Nico with Eno (I have Fripp & Eno). and I just didn't remake the poster lol
