Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
So a little background first. I've been a member of inforoo for 12 years, don't post often (and I'm usually drunk when I do), someday I will add a picture to my profile.
I've done 10 roos, 4 firefly's, 3 shaky knees and this was my 3rd coachella. While I'm not a festival expert, I'd like to think I've picked up some valuable experience through my hours spent on this board and in the trenches with all you beautiful people.
Ok, now that that is out of the way. That was the best festival experience of my life! The production value that coachella provides is bar none. I will always have a spot in my heart for Bonnaroo, it's where this love of festivals and true live music originated, but at this point they are not even in the same conversation. The Yuma alone sets it apart from almost all North American festivals. Add in the unique bookings like Danny elfman and stromae, that they consistently pull off, and an amazing setting that can pull off shipping people in and out fairly easily. You'd be hard pressed to find another fest in the world that can do what they do. I brought in my 3 year old son Saturday and Sunday for a few hours early each day and it was smooth. We are back next year no doubt. Waiting for presale to lock in our VMT package. Maybe I'll post more this year and meet up with all these names that have no faces. Cheers!!
The one negative that I do have against this fest is there are very few spots that I can have a cocktail, eat, pee and watch a show. We had VIP but I don't think that helps the situation all that much. The beer tents at the coachella stage and the rose garden kinda are the only two spots I found, but maybe I was missing something.

I think the main stage VIP beer garden has really good sight lines of the main stage - I have watched a ton of shows (including several headliners) from there and it's a great view. That's it though. I didn't go this year (definitely going next year) but I've found the Mojave can barely be seen from the Rose Garden - I did watch Gucci Mane sort of drunk off my ass on top of the Rose Garden fountain one year LOL but it's not a great view.
Gucci mane played the Sahara twice. Must have been 2017 before the Sahara moved. I can’t image watching a Sahara set there
He played the Sahara after 2017?!? Yeah its definitely the 2017 Sahara set that I saw from the Rose Garden fountain. I remember dancing drunk to Photo Shoot on the fountain with that ridiculous tater tot fondue dish that they were serving that year. Fun times.
Ok I was writing my own novel-length recap of this festival. Was worried about it getting deleted on Proboards so I decided to write it in TextEdit instead, but don't worry! It got deleted completely two thirds of the way through over there too. I'll write my own thing tomorrow.
But in the meantime - tЯist♡n/Cookin' Mama , I think this is the song Daphni played you guys were referring to?

I tried but if they played it wasn’t at their scheduled time since the Sonora opened with an extended Giselle Woo sound check. It was probably not the Mike Patton thing though.

I didn’t see Fred Again this weekend but there was one of those painted signs from Michael’s above the toilet in my Airbnb that said “To the world you’re just one person but to one person you’re the world” so pretty much same vibe
1. Amyl and the Sniffers The longest 35 minutes of the fest for me. So jam-packed with energy. Moshing to good shit. Literally never listened to these fellas in my life and they were insanely fun to listen to. I also got concussed like a motherfucker but TOTALLY WORTH IT 2. Molchat Doma A set I only caught 35 minutes of but stayed and LOVED the whole way through. Three dudes, two synths and one handlebar mustache. The live vocals just absolutely blast the studio stuff out of the water. This dude just moves his hips from side-to-side while the two synth gremlins surrounding him mix some rad shit . Kick-ass 3. black midi The mere 30 minutes I witnessed of this set were a fever dream. Some leprechaun started moaning beautifully into the mic while another guy fingered a clarinet until it exploded. I was on drugs when I watched this set but this set was drugs. “durkle says he’s gonna talk to bitches then goes to black midi” -dan 4. Jamie XX An hour long dance party. The visuals were live edited footage of the fest it was sorta nuts. A great way to close the fest. So many homies were there and we were simply vibin’. Fukn loved it. 5. MEUTE 40 minutes of bliss. Let me preface this by saying I’m a whore for marching band so starting off my 1st coachella with this was fucking amazing. My clothes were fresh, my mind mostly sober. I felt enchanted like some siren was calling me towards the Mojave. As I left I was floating. Hurriedly following my friends off to the next set, I knew it was going to be a great weekend.
Honestly you could put these in like any order and add at least 7 more bands to this list but I’m only lazy enough to write about 5 of them lol. Good fest. Great music. Cant wait for 2023

im glad I was able to talk you into hitting that black midi set, it absolutely ripped
I arrived home late last night and just started processing. This last week was one of the most special of my life, for many reasons. These are my favorite ones from the fest that I’ve been reflecting back on.
Getting into the fest at 3:30 pm on Friday and still getting into the Yuma for most PDM’s set.
CRJ sing-along
I said this already, but seeing slowthai perform “feel away” while waiting in line for water.
Grupo Firme and “Ya Supèrame”
Lil Baby convincing me to wait a little longer before heading to the Sonora by doing “Girls Want Girls”
Amyl and The Sniffers crushing it, Amy Taylor being a total badass, and the band just letting whoever on stage throughout the whole set.
Kendrick coming out for Family Ties. I can’t wait to hear the new album.
Forcing myself to go to brunch on Saturday, meeting a bunch of awesome people, and being able to share some of my experiences with them. Thanks for being so cool with someone who feels like he’s socially awkward af.
Going to see L’Impératrice specifically because of this board and loving it. Which has happened with so many different acts over the years.
Arlo Parks and Phoebe Bridgers performing “Black Dog” together.
Rina blowing me away with her charisma.
Turnstile having the best set of the weekend.
Caribou being absolute masters.
Regretting leaving early every night.
Griselda being so poised, and waiting forever for Conway to spit some verses, but he’s always just mingling with the entourage at the back of the stage, but when he finally does get some time on the mic it’s totally worth the wait.
Sebastian Murphy of Viagra Boys coming out on stage and saying, “It’s the last day. Let’s get wrecked.” And then following through.
Vince Staples giving a poignant performance, explaining that he was considering canceling due to the recent death of a close one (nephew, I think), but instead using the set as a way of showing his appreciation for all the good that life has to offer.
Crowd at Fred again..
Duck Sauce being a straight party.
Doja Cat proving she’s deserving of being one of music’s biggest stars.
Jamie xx closing the weekend for me, playing “idontknow” and “Let’s Do It Again”, and getting to catch it with everyone I met over the weekend. It was my favorite moment by far.
Ok I was writing my own novel-length recap of this festival. Was worried about it getting deleted on Proboards so I decided to write it in TextEdit instead, but don't worry! It got deleted completely two thirds of the way through over there too. I'll write my own thing tomorrow.

I remember this song being played and it’s sick but I don’t think it’s the one we were talking about.
“We refunded two Bonnaroos,” he says, using the rival Manchester, Tenn., music festival’s 80,000 annual attendees as one measure. “I’ve seen big ticket counts go on sale, and it’s fun to watch that graph go up: ‘Wow, look how fast it’s selling!’ I had never seen the opposite with refunds. So it crossed our minds: Is anyone going to come back?”

I made a deal with a buddy of mine that he'd come to Coachella if I came to Electric Forest, so I'm doing that this year. Needless to say: I'm extremely excited that Fred Again.. is on that bill. Will make the whole weekend worth it.
"He says he eventually learned the rumor was started by the manager of a rival act who wanted the same slot and payday. (He won’t name the artist.)"
This quote from PT (about the Weeknd wanting Ye's $8m) in the LA Times has me wondering who it was. Drake?
If I'm reading between the lines, I would assume it was Beiber. Drake and Weeknd squashed their "rivalry" awhile ago. While Weeknd literally wrote a diss verse about Beiber on Some Way lol. Those two haven't liked each other since Weeknd first started seeing Selena Gomez

Good. Hope that keeps Bieber away from the line up in 2023.

Those are the two festivals I've been attending annually for several years. Any others are entirely circumstance/lineup dependent.

agreed. idk whats with some of the Bieber apologists that popped up on here when he was first discussed. Hes a shitty person and a shitty artist. Harry Styles was the much better choice re: teeny boppy acts

I'm sure its Bieber/Scooter Braun. Scooter already negotiated a Beyonce pay day for Ariana Grande last minute in 2019, he probably thought he could get that for his artist again. Scooter has beef with Kanye West. Scooter may have even gone so far as to plant the Bieber playing Coachella rumor that was floating around TMZ but appears to be inaccurate to try to drum up excitement for his set so that GV would consider it - actors do this to try to influence studios to cast them in big roles all the time.

Nice - it looks visually quite awesome, I'm excited. I went ahead and created a thread for it, though it's unclear how much people around these parts care: inforoo.com/thread/38473/electric-forest-2022
