In conclusion, I repeat my invitation to you to fuck all the way off. Just, like, all the way. Like, if you've fucked off for a while, and you think you've fucked off enough, and you're wondering if you should fuck off some more, the answer is, "Yes, continue to fuck off."
Any good Saturday finds? Looking at what I'll be seeing, Saturday is definitely the worst day. I want to see 5 of the top 6 and almost no undercard.
Saturday is second after Friday in my opinion and Friday could be up there with all time festival days and overnights for me if the schedule works out in my favor which with 20 acts I want to see isnt gonna happen. Here’s some shit to dig through Saturday depending on what you like:
Denzel Curry - should be the hardest rap show of the weekend and up there with Tool and Bassnectar for hardest of all. He never doesn’t make my Top 5 or so when I see him at a festival. I’d post it but it’s already up on another thread but you might check out his Bulls on Parade cover he did last year if you like Rage. He closed with it at Voodoo 19.
Jupiter & Okwess out of the Congo. Jupiter Bokondji (sp?) is the leader and Okwess is the name of his band. They’ve.been around for about 20 years. If you have time or inclination to get some World in, this is one of the better acts. They have a KEXP and Tiny Desk out there.
If you dig indie or folk or both, you might dig Mt. Joy. I found them to be fairly decent when I saw them. Probably a band better to see perform live than to listen to studio, but this is what I had from 2018 Voodoo Next set I caught was Mt. Joy. They all had wigs on. I found them to be pretty talented. They covered a couple of minutes of Flaming Lips’, ‘do you realize?’ and Bill Withers’ Ain’t No Sunshine. I’ll have to give them some credit.
