Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The thing that keeps running through my mind: How many people have stubbornly held out on a vaccine this long, and would only be persuaded to do it to be able go to Bonnaroo? If you haven't gotten it by now, then too bad, you didn't do the right thing anyways.
at this point what it takes is to make it as inconvenient as possible to not be vaccinated
I like where some European countries are headed with this. If you can't show your proof of vaccination, you basically aren't a functioning member of society any more. No more theaters, no concerts, no restaurants.
We'll of course never get to that point with as many red states here, but I think enough businesses will get to that point with both patrons and employees. Uncle Joe is about to start requiring vaccinations or weekly testings for all federal employees and contractors.

Although what you say about Europe is mostly true, they are still canceling festivals left and right because even requiring vaccination proof doesn't get them far as they have so much less vaccines available, barely any people (mostly 16-30yo) would be able to attend as they haven't been able to be fully vaxxed yet.
Also worth mentioning is, European borders are open with proof of vaccination but US borders aren't. At least not for Europeans, unless you've spend 14 days outside Europe. Americans are free to travel anywhere (as far as I know).
I'm stuck here in Texas, vaccinated and all. I can travel home to Belgium but won't be able to come back. This makes me very disappointed in everything that has to do with proof of vaccination. This is a global issue, the fact that every country/state has the right to make there own choices is so bullshit.

Rant over.
Not that I know your status, but green card holders living in the USA should be able to return to America after traveling to Europe.

Not a green card holder (yet). Regular visa status. But honestly, I have friends who are stuck in the UK and are green card holders. You have to leave the shengen area before traveling to the US if you're not American.
I’ve been mostly paying attention to how England / the UK has been handling things the last few months since I have a lot of friends over there. Their Delta spike was awful, but they still said screw it and opened everything. I’ve been seeing Instagram and Snapchat stories of full pubs and clubs the last week or two.
If I understand it right, I think vaccinated Americans can come into the country with no hassle at all now. If other countries keep closed up, I may be tempted to go visit next year. I’ve always wanted to go to that stupid cheese wheel race down the hill near Oxford.
Are we at the point where we are worried that we're less than a month out with no schedule?
It's been out seven weeks in advance the last couple of festivals.
Also, still no ap in the Play Store for Android. Not sure about Apple.
I am honestly still asking myself if Bonnaroo is going to happen. I know it seems as if everything is moving forward, but I can’t help but feel like the plug will be pulled if there’s a big spike in Covid cases after Lolla.

A quick thought experiment: what do you think the specific numbers would have to be to get Bonnaroo outright cancelled?
Based off all the reports I heard of fake vaccine cards mixed with delta and how packed those crowds looked, I could see 10k infections. I could see roo canceling especially w/ no vaccine requirements like lollapalooza had.

The vaccine has proven to be extremely effective against death and hospitalization so we already have a much lower “ceiling” on deaths
I guess it depends whether the people making these calls think that ceiling is acceptable at this point
Personally, and maybe it’s wrong, I feel like the unvaccinated have made their choice so it’s wouldn't be right to cancel everything again just to protect those people [note: I know kids under 12 can’t get vaccinated yet—but even with delta their risk is extremely low afaik]
This article made me feel better about Roo happening after all the negative Lolla press

There’s no way to know the scale of how many people brought in fake vaccine cards; I’m sure some did but I honestly don’t believe the demographic of “people who really want to go to a festival in Chicago, Illinois and not somewhere else with fewer restrictions and don’t want to get vaccinated or get at negative test and are willing to put in a lot of effort to get a vaccine card” is *that* high.
But beyond that, I think 10k breakthrough infections specifically attributable to Lolla would easily shut down Pitchfork and Riot Fest but I agree with others - I think the breakthrough hospitalization/death rate would have to go up before Bonnaroo specifically got cancelled.
Things would have to go catastrophically and astronomically bad in the next two weeks for Bonnaroo to not happen. Tennessee is in no way going to lock down, in part because Volunteers Football starts the same day as Roo. If Roo can legally happen, there's no way that insurers and sponsors would allow it to not happen.
These variants are serious business and things could get that bad later on, especially a few weeks after colleges start. But we are in all likelihood getting right in before the buzzer sounds.

I have to keep reminding myself that breakthrough cases are still very rare even with delta, despite all the media focus on them, and that things like “10,000 infections” like have no basis in reality
I'm personally resigned to the fact that getting a mild breakthrough case is a distinct possibility. I'm going to kind of lock down for two weeks afterwards at our place just as a precaution. I run at least ten miles a week and have a good immune system so I know the science and statistics are on my side.
It's a risk I'm willing to take at this point, mostly because this is no longer a pandemic. It's an endemic. With low vaccination rates not outpacing variant mutations, this is something that's going to be a thing for many years to come. Eventually you just have to decide your own personal risk tolerance and do the things that make for a good life in spite of it.

Yeah, isn’t the math just on breakthroughs of vaccinated people still just .1%?
Lollapalooza is the first big festival to happen, though, right? In 2 weeks it could be a very different story…
rolling loud was pretty big. It got a lot of negative Covid attention on social media, but I haven’t seen any evidence that it was actually a super spreader event.

The data reported from these states indicate that breakthrough cases, hospitalizations, and deaths are extremely rare events among those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (see Figure 1). The rate of breakthrough cases reported among those fully vaccinated is well below 1% in all reporting states, ranging from 0.01% in Connecticut to 0.29% in Alaska.
The hospitalization rate among fully vaccinated people with COVID-19 ranged from effectively zero (0.00%) in California, Delaware, D.C., Indiana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Vermont, and Virginia to 0.06% in Arkansas. (Note: Hospitalization may or may not have been due to COVID-19.)
The rates of death among fully vaccinated people with COVID-19 were even lower, effectively zero (0.00%) in all but two reporting states, Arkansas and Michigan where they were 0.01%. (Note: Deaths may or may not have been due to COVID-19.)
How many people are in attendance at baseball stadiums daily? Are there outbreaks being reported per game? The dodgers have a 56k capacity. Yankees 52K. All the seats are available for purchase for the rest of the season. Any media coverage on that?
We all have choice to attend an event. No one is forcing you to attend regardless of your vaccination status.
