Has bonnaroo made any announcement or update on the September lineup?
I can say (without authority, leaks, or rumors) that they are scramblin’ to lock down a solid lineup. Have y’all seen the clusterfuck of festival dates now in Sept/Oct? This is unprecedented and totally bananas. Especially as we can’t even be sure that planned late summer/early fall dates will actually happen.
I didn't interpret that email as them not doing refunds at all. They might as well let people do their own selling for a period of time and keep as much cash on hand for as long as possible before offering refunds.

I mean, are you buying tickets for anything right now? I doubt anyone is, but a lot of people need the money
Yeah my wife and I splurged for VIP this year. We have never done it before. When all this started going down we agreed that if Bonnaroo didn’t offer refunds, we would never return to the farm. For Coachella, we had every option to keep the ticket, switch weekends, or get a full refund. We would be flying from California and now with our airline not offering refunds either, it put us in hole of more than $3k in the middle of a pandemic. Radiate positivity y’all

It's pretty shitty that they aren't paying out until after the festival happens though. I get every company, not just festivals, are looking to keep as much cash on hand as possible, but when you're owned by live nation it's just a bad look.
Maybe I'm being pessimistic or I'm a realist, but I don't think anyone is going to have to worry about getting their money back. This thing is going to be canceled. Period.
1. All the models (no not the ones Trump slept with, WTF?) show the curve starting to flatten out by August. Maybe. 2. No way they have time to throw this together in a month. 3. Economy will be in the crapper at that point. Even if they hold a ticket buyers won't be able to make it. (new job, no time off, still digging out of debt). 4. Strong possibility this nightmare starts back up in September like the regular flu. 5. Still no vaccine at this point. Maybe an antiviral that works half-ass and costs a fortune. 6. No herd immunity yet, as not enough have recovered and are immune.
So at that point, they cancel and either offer refunds or keep your ticket for next year. If they don't, then I say we find Live Nations headquarters and burn it to the ground. (when no one is there of course)

I'm 100% with you there. I doubt any festivals are happening this year. I just think it sucks because I'm sure a large portion of people going to these festivals are service workers/individuals who are struggling financially due to the virus. Holding on to their money for extended periods of time (even if its only $300-$400) is cruel. We already have to deal with the $1200 UBI going out way later than it should be. People need money in their hands (the economy needs it to).
Not that you are making any sort of argument against this. Just seeing these large corporations hold on to peoples cash like some interest free loan when they know full well they'll have to give it back eventually is frustrating.
How can they legally not offer refunds? Lineup changes are one thing - those should be expected and are always a risk when buying festival tickets. But to sell tickets to an event on a specific date and then move it 3 months later and not offer refunds for anyone who can no longer make it? Maybe I’m being naive but that seems pretty cut and dry.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

I'm guessing it's in the fine print.
Well what's interesting is that the Front Gate refund policy stated that "refunds will only be offered in the event of a cancellation or reschedule." Then it got rescheduled and they removed the "reschedule" bit from their refund policy.
Someone also said they aren't offering refunds even if you bought the ticket insurance.

So, I guess I shouldn't be planning my triumphant return to the farm?
Wow, I found my login for this place. Amazing the things you can do when you're working slacking from home.
