I think Bottlerock is the only festival that The Highwomen could probably headline and even then, it’s a big stretch. It’s a bummer since that album is so good.
Well shit this show is gonna be very rare, it’s the second show they’re all doing as the highwomen. the only other date they have scheduled is opening for Stapleton at Wrigley Field sometime between now and the end of eternity.
yeah, no problem. I'm intrigued by it honestly. My guess is they'll play the whole album, do their cover of The Chain, then maybe a sprinkle of each member's solo material? either way it's a much more unique grab than i thought.

I have nothing to compare this to since this is my first time at bottlerock, but it's 5pm and still seems like maybe 50% capacity. It might be because I haven't been to the main stage yet, but I definitely appreciate the room to breath and dance while still getting close enough to the stage to feel engaged.
a year or two ago when Shaky Knees announced the country fest they were planning on doing, Brandi was one of the headliners. i remember posting on here and saying, "Gary Allan should be the headliner because he's fucking great." A year later and now a devoted Brandi and Highwomen fan, it's crazy how wrong i was.

The Highwomen were pretty good but definitely more country than I'm typically into. I left to go catch the last half of James Murphy but immediately regretted it after I got there and tried to go back to catch the rest of the Highwomen but they were already done. Must have been a really short set. They did a version of the Highway Men song with different lyrics and a different story that was pretty cool. Brittany Spencer can sing!
All in all, pretty good festival. I'm really impressed with how clean the festival is. Prices for food and drinks are really high, but it's Napa so I expected it. I wouldn't mind visiting this festival again if the lineup is right. I probably wouldn't have gone this year but since California doesn't have many festivals this year, and I had friends going and could share accommodations, it was a really easy decision.
If you're just walking around today between 4-5:30, I'll be playing the Silent Disco on the Green Channel. I'm the guy who looks like he's 15 years old and wearing glasses.
So were they the same as everyone else with vaccine info at the gates?
They checked your ID to make sure it matched the card or test. For me, they probably looked at for 15 seconds so I feel like they were pretty thorough. Saw lots of people wearing masks in crowds and outside of the main stage there was plenty of space if your wanted to digital distance.

Going to try and stop by but I don't know if I'll have enough time to actually do the silent disco thing and get headphones before heading over to P.tM. really depends on my group!

Glad to hear about Brandi; I'm unfamiliar with her music, but I pulled the trigger on that PJ/Sleater-Kinney day at Ohana before it sold out, and she's subbing that day.
Only year I went to Bottlerock was 2016, but it was a better experience than I expected. Very clean, friendly and older demographic, nice areas to relax when you have downtime. Good to hear those same vibes persist!
