J.S. Ondara is a dope singer-songwriter from Kenya. I saw him first at Newport Folk with Dawes as his backing band, then as The Lumineers opener with a string quartet.
Just saw on Spotify he released an album today: “Folk N’ Rol Vol. 1: Tales of Isolation” - essentially all Covid-related ballads. I’m giving it a listen through right now and liking what I’m hearing, thought I would share.
Guessing we are about to see an influx of topical, pandemic tunes...

Just as I was singing the praises of Sault's "7" album, they are coming out with their true masterpiece - "Untitled" - next week...
Some songs snippets are up on their Instagram, but you can stream the entire piece at BBC Radio 6 - Gilles Peterson played the whole album on his show yesterday (Album begins around 37:50) - www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000k1lx
"We present our first ‘Untitled’ album to mark a moment in time where we as Black People, and of Black Origin are fighting for our lives. RIP George Floyd and all those who have suffered from police brutality and systemic racism. Change is happening…We are focused." - Sault x
Sault's new album "UNTITLED (Black Is)" is out now, available for downloading and pre-order. The whole thing is absolutely stunning, but here's some of my favorites from this moving and triumphant album:

There's some good stuff on the new Phoebe Bridgers album, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed in it overall. Not that it's bad, I was just really looking forward to it and thought it would be better. Stranger in the Alps >> imo.

I remember talking to Hum's touring drummer at a Courtney Barnett show in like 2014 about them recording. Then they toured with failure and dropped off again. Only 2 songs in and it's everything i could want and imagine. So happy they finally finished it!
